Matt Damon will not be using a toilet until the entire world has access to clean water.
Damon, co-founder of water.org, a site dedicated to raising awareness and funding for clean water throughout the world, staged a press conference today. He announced that he will not be going to the bathroom until sanitation was available to everyone to a room full of journalists with familiar faces like YouTube star ShayCarl and Winston from New Girl (Lamorne Morris).

Lack of clean water kills a lot of people. Pretty hard to take this guy seriously as he jets around the world.
If he flew commercial and donated the savings to solving the problem he’s have a far greater impact.
Boy! He could really make a splash at the Oscars!
I read an article in the WSJ about a parasite that they have been trying to wipe out with the clean water program in India and North Africa and they are almost there. There were just 5 hundred and some cases this past year.
Now, let me tell you about this parasite. The parasite is spread through the water flea that lives in the water supply in India and North Africa. People drink it and the female burrows through the intestine and lays her eggs. The pupa stage worm works its way down the leg of the host and comes out the foot or the ankle and causes a burning pain which causes people to put their foot in water to cool the pain and the cycle continues. The only way to get rid of the parasite is to wind the worm, inch by inch around a stick or pencil, a little at a time until you get the whole thing pulled out.
That’s how they get these movie stars worked up, stories like that.
All window dressing. Posturing BS to make it seem like he actually gives a millisecond of flatulence about clean water. At $4K per well, how many wells would just ONE of his million$ pay for? 250. Hey Matt! Pony up or SHUT UP!
P.S. As someone who ACTUALLY $UPPORT$ WELL DRILLING in villages in Africa through James Robison’s LIFE organization, I think I’m in a position to say what I just said to Damon in previous reply.
I’ve always been for dirty water.
Eight Deuce on the Loose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, first they come for our guns, now they want to take away our dirty water.
“This reminds me of one Sheryl “Single Sheet” Crowe.”
That’s the first thing I thought of, too. I wonder how that’s working out for her, LOL.
Reminds me of the movie THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING when all the villagers cry and complain about the tribe living above them peeing in the stream when the people in the lower tribe go out to get drinking water.
We could give the entire world clean water for probably one tenth what the world spends on global warming every year.
But then again, the technology, and the materials to make clean water are not rocket science. Third world countries have enough access to knowledge, and they have unlimited practically free work forces, so why is it our responsibility to give it to them in the first place?
he’ll make a stink at the Oscars!
It's worse that you think. They also expect *you* to maintain the equipment...
Same thing happens in the US. For example, about twenty years ago, the Army Corps of Engineers were brought in to replace the DC public schools heating plants to the tune of $10M. A decade later, they were failing again from the lack of maintenance.
"EW" is right.
His father would have to take out the Vaseline every so often and 'prime the pump', so to speak, so that no matter how hard the boy tried to hold it in, he would fail. Eventually, the boy grew out of this. Let's hope Matt does, too! If not, perhaps...
I guess it all Depends.
Nope! Truly his Identity! ;-)
