SEVEN OAKS (CBSLA.com) The cabin quadruple-murder suspect Christopher Dorner is believed to be holed up in is now fully engulfed in flames, according to CBS2′s Carter Evans, who also reported that tear gas was fired into the house before the fire broke out.
A shot was also fired around that time, and sources tell CBS2′s Juan Fernandez that tracks were found leading to a horse corral, which may mean Dorner was able to escape.
LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith Tuesday urged Dorner to turn himself in as a gun battle and barricade situation raged on in San Bernardino County.
Enough is enough. Its time to turn yourself in. End the bloodshed, Smith said, adding that Dorner, who allegedly shot and killed his fourth victim a San Bernardino County Sheriffs deputy Tuesday afternoon, was holed up in a Seven Oaks cabin. The home, ironically, is located near the Sheriffs outpost that was set up earlier this week as part of the search for him.
Dormer is also accused of shooting a second deputy, who was undergoing surgery after being airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Smith, who says Dorner likely has access to television and other media outlets, requested that media helicopters pull out of the area.
The San Bernardino District Attorneys Office also asked that reporters in the area to refrain from tweeting about the ongoing situation.
The sheriff has asked all members of the press to stop tweeting immediately. It is hindering officer safety. #Dorner

Dorner reportedly broke into a couples home and tied them up possibly days ago before stealing their vehicle and fleeing the scene Tuesday afternoon.
He was spotted by authorities around 1:30 p.m. and repeated gunshots were exchanged on Glass Road. KCAL9′s Carter Evans, who was reporting nearby, is safe despite loud gunfire that could be heard during his live report.
Dorner then fled into a forested area and barricaded himself in a cabin. A SWAT team was also called in to set up a perimeter around the area.
Im glad the bastard is dead, good riddance..just horrible that he killed another officer today..who just recently became the father of a baby boy..a wonderful man who helped out needy kids and was always there to help out someone in need..a real loss..Dorner is a coward, may he burn in hell
They’ll say anything to keep the story rolling....
burn in hell scumbag
What you may not realize is the attitude and reactions that you develop in others by taunting, gloating and wishing for someone's (anyone's) demise. This applies to EVERYONE on any side of this issue.
Proverbs 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
Proverbs 24:18 Lest the Lord see it and be displeased, And He turn away His anger from him.
Proverbs 24:19 Do not fret because of evildoers, Or be envious of the wicked;
Proverbs 24:20 For there will be no future for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.
Folks might want to start taking up Bible-reading in the future. Might save everyone a lot of heartache and trouble.
Better hope the guy was in there...if so, he’s toast!

Where did you get that info?
Lon Horiuchi must be there.
Who do you know of that’s trying to make heroes of the LAPD? Not me, at any rate. That doesn’t make Dormer a hero either. The are no heroes in this. Dormer murdered innocent people in cold blood. He’s no hero. My saying that doesn’t mean I have to think that the LAPD are heroes either.
He killed another cop today? That’s horrible.
I hope Dorner’s dead, because otherwise he’s going to become a hero to the left. Heck, he’s a hero to about half of the posters on FR.
This disgusts me. The police, like anybody else, make mistakes, and the time they have to make the decision to fire is about a milisecond before the other person gets to fire on them and blow them away. So there will be errors, but that’s the fault of the criminal and not of the police.
That’s why people who didn’t pull the trigger but assisted somebody in a crime that resulted in a homicide are also charged with murder.
I really hope Dorner has gone on to face the ultimate Judge.
going to be interesting to find out who authorized that. not that we will ever find out.
Imagine what could have been done in Afghanistan with the same ROE.
Office safety does NOT trump the First Amendment.
I suddenly have a craving for toasted marshmallows.
Crazy idea but... but does anyone think this whole incident will in any way encourage law enforcement to reconsider its relationship with the community it “serves”?
LAPD has murdered a few over the years too...
Heard it put this way earlier... “The hopelessly corrupt chasing down the stupidly evil.”
Sounds about right.
We used teargas grenades in Army training....don’t remember any fires.
Maybe it's the "community" that's the problem in the first place.
