Illegal immigrant tells Congress not to call him illegal (Deport him!)
The Washington Times ^ | February 13, 2013 | Stephen Dinan

Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and former reporter, scolded a congressional panel on Wednesday, saying that he should not be called illegal, and saying it is an insult to his family who brought him here.

“When you inaccurately call me illegal, you not only dehumanize me, you’re offending them,” he said. “No human being is illegal.”

Mr. Vargas testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee alongside Chris Crane — a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and president of the ICE agents’ union — who is unable to arrest him under the administration’s new non-deportation policies.

Mr. Vargas, who “came out” as an illegal immigrant several years ago, delivered an emotional plea for the country to legalize him.

“What do you want to do with us?” he asked the committee.

Last week, a top House Democrat also warned colleagues against using the term “illegal immigrants.”

“Our citizens are not — the people in this country are not illegal. They are are out of status. They are new Americans that are immigrants,” Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat, told colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee.

What have we come to?

This illegal alien goes before the US Senate Judiciary Committee and not only demands he not be called an illegal but demands his supposed rights.

I am offended and dehumanized when I have to pay taxes to support this ILLEGAL ALIEN and any of his relatives.

And, since he’s the ILLEGAL ALIEN, I really don’t give a smelly Obama about how offended he is.

No, Jose, you are not “illegal”. You are simply a criminal.

No one said this person is an illegal human being, as in his humanity is against the law. It’s your immigration status that’s against the law, if you entered this country illegally. Then you haven’t just committed a crime, like any else at large, avoiding the authorities. You are an “illegal alien.” That’s the term for it, and that’s not “inaccurate.”

By the way, if someone told a Congressional panel they were another sort of criminal, a thief or a murderer for instance, wouldn’t they be in jail?

I second that request!

I'd like to discuss my rights with this Congressional panel.

He is an illegal alien and an invader. He should be pitched out, denied any future chance at entering the country legally (much less residence or citizenship) and threatened with hard time should he ever enter the country under any conditions, again.

Maybe we should change the label. Wonder how he’d like being called an INVASIVE immigrant?

If he is not a lawbreaker, then nobody is a lawbreaker and we should just empty out all the prisons.

On a separate note. I was watching a cooking show in spanish and the lady kept saying that recipes for meal she was preparing is different in the northern states as compared to the southern.

I finally realized that she was calling the United States the northern states and Mexico the southern states.
It seems that it is politically incorrect in Mexico to differentiate.

I’ve been pondering this for a while. How about a bunch of Americans head down to mexico, illegaly of course, and just start wreaking havoc. I’m talking about declaring open season on the drug cartels and corrupt mexican government, plundering and pillaging for fun and profit, with enough firepower to take over the country in an afternoon. I’m talking about wholesale insurrection, and removing the spanish-fascist regime that currently owns the country. Of course the mexicans would have learn english, but that would be a small price to pay for their freedom. Of course the employers in the north wouldn’t like this, but when you have a new country to develop, who cares what they think. Oh, and if the Americans won’t build a fence then the mexicans should to keep their socialist neighbors out.

Agreed. Imagine one of these guys going up to an interview at a US Embassy to apply for an immigrant visa...

"So, how do you plan on making a living once you've moved to California?"

"I'm going to perform day labor for cash under the table, refuse to learn English, use a fake SSN and not pay any taxes, demand a drivers license and full welfare benefits, and have my kids educated in public schools in my native language, not yours."

"Ok, that sounds just fine, here you go!"

Of course not. And yet those who profit from illegals would have you pretend they're the same as any legal immigrant.

Maybe not. The cooking in the northern (Mexican) state of Chihuahua is quite different from that in the Mexico City region. Could she have been referring to that?

Call him a criminal alien invader

Or, since he invaded our space, how about Space Invader?

Not human-sounding enough?

Then how about Criminal Trespasser ?

As a gringo, if I sat in front of a bunch of "officials" like this and admitted to any federal crime, how long would it take them to arrest and charge me ?

.
