Two days after his State of the Union pledge to guarantee high quality preschool for every 4-year-old in the U.S., President Barack Obama takes his pitch on the road on Thursday to an Atlanta suburb where he will deliver a speech on the issue at a local recreation center.
Obama cast his preschool plan as a way to bring low-income and minority children up to speed with higher-income children—a move he says would save taxpayer money and give those children greater opportunity to succeed over their lifetimes.
"Every dollar we invest in high-quality early childhood education can save more than seven dollars later on by boosting graduation rates, reducing teen pregnancy, even reducing violent crime," Obama said in his State of the Union remarks. "In states that make it a priority to educate our youngest children, like Georgia or Oklahoma, studies show students grow up more likely to read and do math at grade level, graduate high school, hold a job, form more stable families of their own."
The president is set to speak at 1:20 p.m. ET at the Decatur Community Recreation Center, after a tour of a local pre-kindergarten classroom.

We already have Head Start which is proven failure. Kids do better who do NOT go into it.
Another blatant transfer of money from those who produce to those who take and vote democrat.
Another intrusion into our lives by government. Normal peoples’ kids don’t need this. They need their parents around more, but they can’t be since they have to work long hours to pay the taxes that go to slackers who vote democrat.
Or basically taking the children of welfare mothers primarily black and hispanic and putting them into the hands of slightly smarter new sociology grads with student loans to pay off and who will be in the employ of the gooberment (so their student loans vanish after 10 years). Anything to keep the student loan iPhone bubble going for a few more years)

Exactly, head start has been around for decades, another government run program, that takes ur kids in at 6 weeks around here, and of course is a failure

It's nothing new. Sam Blumenfeld was warning about this back in the 1980s. I remember my Social Studies teacher, back in the 1970s, praising the Soviet version of this, because it liberated women to work.
The Soviets realized the dream decades ago. Why shouldn't it be realized here?
