Missouri Democrats propose law giving gun owners 90 days to turn in weapons

Gun control February 14, 2013 By: Joe Newby

Missouri Democrats have introduced a measure that if passed into law, would give owners of certain types of "assault" weapons 90 days to either turn them in to authorities, disable them or ship them out of the state, Jim Hoft reported at the Gateway Pundit Thursday.

Introduce legislation that makes it punishable by 10 years in prison to propose legislation that violates the 2nd amendment rights of the state’s citizens.

If there were any men in MO, they’d demand that those voting for this theft of their Second Amendment rights resign their seats. They lied when they swore to “uphold the Constitution.”

In no way, shape or form, do these actions reflect the words in your oath of office, i.e., “protect and defend the Constitution”, therefore, my answer is:

“I Refuse!”

If such a bill were ever to be signed into law, I suggest all owners of the firearms in question coordinate their turn-in by massing at the state capitol on the same day with their weapons. Of course, since they will no longer have these weapons they should bring along all their no longer needed ammo and magazines to turn in as well. To maintain order, I suggest they mass in a circle around the capitol. Then, to assure they are in compliance, they should call out the governor and the bills sponsors and all legislators who voted for it so the exchange can take place most effectively. Then I suggest an exchange take place.

Eric, because I live just to the South of you in AR, you know you can give your firearms to me anytime. I’d hate for you to get in trouble with the law. I’m just thinking of you, bro.

In the past 10 years, Missouri’s 65 percent Republican House and 75 percent Republican Senate have:

Passed concealed carry
Overrode governor’s veto on concealed carry
Ended a Jim Crow-era “permit to purchase” handgun law
passed law protecting gun ranges from nuisance suits
exempted the state capitol building from list of places where CCW is not allowed
Passed a castle doctrine
lowered the age for concealed carry
eliminated a state FFL requirement to purchase NFA weapons
added suppressors to the list of allowed NFA items
lowered the CCW age for military personnel to 18
made switchblade knives legal

Yeah, I’m sure this ridiculous bill has a good chance of passing . . . (who do they think they’re kidding?)

Missouri is the wrong state to try this kind of measure on. I’ve lived here more than 15 years. There are more libertarians here than I have seen in any state. I had a plumber bring his gun case to my house because he wanted to brag about his guns. Showed me various pistols, rifles, an AK-47, AR-15, and a MAC-10.

They were a hobby for him and he just liked taking them to the range. This guy was very nice and honest, but he would easily be in the group that you would only get their guns when you pry them from his cold dead fingers. Now imagine the “not so nice” folks in MO. Yah, never gonna happen.

why not use this as evidence these law makers know NOTHING about law or how law works.

It seems like we should prank legislators to “end women’s sufferage” (ala comedy skit)

“For the safety of children” abolish the bill of individual rights.

petition to legalize human on human consumption (canabalism)

etc.

Then turn around and show these elected officials to be idiots.
