The extent to which GOP lawmakers are ridiculed by the MSM for trying to get to the bottom of Benghazi is unbelievable. If you missed Sen. McCain on Meet the Press today with David Gregory, it’s well worth watching now.
After explaining to Gregory that there are still a number of unanswered questions regarding Benghazi, McCain concludes by saying there’ s been a massive cover-up. Gregory is confused: “A massive cover-up of what?”
The crux of the interview, however, came when McCain asked Gregory whether he even cared that four Americans died (transcript via NewsBusters):
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm asking you, do you care-- I-- I'm-- I'm asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? Or do you-- the reasons for that? And-- and shouldn't pe-- people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died--
DAVID GREGORY: Well, what you said was the cover-up--

DAVID GREGORY: A cover-up of what?
JOHN MCCAIN: Of the information-- concerning the deaths of four brave Americans. The information has not been forthcoming. You can obviously believe that it has. I know that it hasn't. And I'll be glad to send you a list of the questions that have not been answered, including what did the president do and who did he talk to the night of the attack on Benghazi?
And why was it? Why was it that we-- that the f-- the people who were evacuated from the-- from the consulate the next day were not interviewed the next day. And then they would've known that it was not a spontaneous demonstration. Why did the president for two weeks, for two weeks during the heat of the campaign continue to say he didn't know whether it was a terrorist attack or not?
Is it because it interfered with the line of Al Qaeda has decimated? And everything's fine in that-- in that part of the world? Maybe. We don't know. But we need the answers. Then we'll reach conclusions. But we have not received the answers. And that's a fact.
But hey, what difference at this point does it make, right?

Mesta.....thanks for what you do. As a busy parent, it’s hard to try to follow all of the threads and trying to mull through the facts. Thanks for keeping us informed.
I swear.......it’s like a rabbit warren with all of the tunnels. I’m sure Fedzilla likes it that way to keep us in the dark. Quite frankly.....it’s exhausting.

1) Only the POTUS can authorize a CBA (cross border authority) command for a rescue mission in a foreign nation.
Plus Fact Two:
2) No rescue mission was attempted.
Equals Fact Three:
3) 0bama turned his back on 41 State Dept. and CIA employees refusing to issue a CBA command and went to bed so he could go to Las Vegas the next day.
No he doesn’t care. He could have killed hundreds of people by possessing that huge magazine according to liberal logic.
What are you talking about? They were Americans who were embassy staff. They were Americans.
Imagine that the Watergate break-in has just occurred. Woodward & Bernstein have a keen sense that something very improper has just occurred, but they don’t have the full picture, or nearly so.
And to each question they pose, they are met with the shouted rejoinder, “Just WHAT do you think was covered up, here...?!?!!”
So if they didn’t fully understand at first the ENTIRE scandal, they’d then have some obligation to SHUT-UP and ask no questions...?
It is surprising enough when prominent journalists set aside their jobs of asking the tough questions to authority, but when they then ACTIVELY SHOUT DOWN the people who step up to finally ask the questions, well...

Barack, you may be a lot of things; but, for certainty, you are no Christian. Obama, who refers to himself as: “A man of Africa”, is precisely the type of ‘divided loyalties” individual that our Founders attempted to prohibit from ascendancy to the presidency when they constructed our Constitution.

What's with McCain discussing this insignificant event? The most pressing issue facing the nation now is the fact that Marco Rubio drinks a sip of water when thirsty.

OK, well, we had a drone circling overhead recording video, and now the situation is completely over, and I really do see NO LEGITIMATE REASON why we still have not seen that video.
Are the reasons for not releasing that tape in fact POLITICAL...? Maybe we see our guys tragically dying, like Alias in that scene from Platoon...?
And why nothing from the 31 guys rescued from the Annex?
The President says we’re running out of things to ask about but in fact they’re given no response at all.

Well said, it’s exactly what’s happening.
I thought they were CIA contractors...or at least a couple of them..of course the Ambassador was. And it wasn’t a consulate, it was not an official station.
A few brief moments of lucidity and McCain, Graham and all the rest of these daggum GOPe RINOs go back to the same old appeasement BS. Same old.
