A judge on Friday ruled that the defense team for George Zimmerman cannot depose Ben Crump, the attorney representing the slain teen's family.
Judge Debra Nelson said the deposition was not needed and there was no undue prejudice. She also said that the defense has not yet deposed Witness 8, whose interview with Crump is in question, even though they've had her identity for 10 months.
Nelson did grant the defense's motions for subpoenas of voice samples from Martin over the last three years. If they exist, the audio samples are in the possession of Martin's family and Witness 8.
The defense said they wanted to depose Crump before holding a deposition with Witness 8, a friend of Martin who told Crump that she was on the phone with Martin before he was shot and killed last February in a gated Sanford community.
"It is widely accepted that (the recording of the Crump's interview with Witness 8) is largely unintelligible," West said.
The defense believed Crump should have been forced to reveal details of the interview and give insight to the inaudible words.
West also said the age of the key witness was misrepresented. He said that she was 18 years old at the time of the shooting, not 16 as previously released. He also tried to argue that Crump made himself a witness in the case when he interviewed the girl.
"Mr. Crump chose to conduct the interview in the fashion that he did. He chose to have ABC News present. It's not clear to me how and why that was set up," West said. "He chose not to have law enforcement present, in fact, (he) withheld this witness from law enforcement for some time ... He made himself a witness."

Who the hell is "West"?
This is a mistrial waiting to happen. An automatic reversal of guilt (if found guilty) on appeals. This dog and pony show will make the idiots prosecuting the Duke trial look like Einsteins.
Poor Zimmerman. He does not deserve this harrassment.
Deposing an opposing attorney in any litigation is pretty much impossible.
Is Crump an attorney of record in this case? I thought he was just Obama’s agent, tasked with stirring up as much racial strife as possible.
Well.... at least there is now another certain reverseable error on appeal.

I imagine that the responses to police questions were along the lines of:
"S'up?"
"Yo, and he, like, ya know wha' I'm sayin?"
"Sh--. Ain't no thing."
"Wha?"
"Man, ain't be like dat. And, yo, I be -- I be -- I be -- and like that. Ya know?"
"Dude, you crazy. I don' unnerstan that sh-- at all. Bu' he real."
I for one have been worried about George being railroaded from beginning, and my fears have only grown.
To the folks that speak of.... no problem, appeals will go Georges/our way, join the real world, the courts are full of partisan judges, people are railroaded every day, with little hope for appeal.

That makes it official. This is a Show Trial. “Stand Your Ground” will be denied.
Railroading includes the trumped up charges on George’s wife. With all the attorney fees they had/have no money, so they monetary issue a year ago was plainly a trap. Gotta keep her under their thumb too.

Is this true? Is she somehow inaccessible?
Did the defense expect Crump to throw DeeDee under the bus to explain the age thing, etc., thus getting her to spill the beans in revenge?
Agree. And how long would Zimmerman survive in a FL state prison.
How much longer can they keep this charade up?
It’s been an “Official Show Trial” from day four after the homicide on.
“Stand your Ground” was already “officially” denied.
The chances of our current legal system to render justice in this case is almost zero.
Zimmerman killed Martin, we all know that as a factual statement of truth.
The who, what, when and where is open knowledge.
The “why” of it, is the lone point of fact that remains unresolved.
This statement is a lie. "Witness 8", aka "DeeDee", is a fiction created by Crump in order to get GZ arrested.
The second paragraph seems to have been accidentally redacted:
"Zimmerman's lead attorney, former Local 6 legal analyst Mark O'Mara, and attorney Don West argued the motion, seeking to question Crump. Zimmerman and Crump did not attend the hearing."
I do it because it is important, it is an investment in the future.

Any one of us could be in George Zimmerman's shoes, the leftists hate the very thought of armed self defense.
George is a sacrifice on the leftist's altar, and if they are allowed to destroy him they will look for more.
