Private Insurance but Government Control

If you think the Obama health law won't affect you because you have private insurance, keep reading. The Department of Health and Human Services announced final rules for private insurance last week. The federal government will have control over your care. Sec. 1311 of the law empowers the Secretary of Health and Human Services to dictate how doctors treat privately insured patients and what questions patients must be asked. Your doctor will enter your information into an electronic database; your doctor's decisions will be monitored for compliance with federal guidelines, and your doctor may have to choose between what is best for you and avoiding a government penalty.

1. Ask your doctor about two sets of books. if you tell your doctor things you wouldn't confide to anyone. Otherwise your electronic record will include everything and be seen by thousands of eyes. Have depression, erectile dysfunction or a drinking problem? Your chiropractor will see it. So will thousands of non-physicians. President Obama's Jan. 16 Executive Actions to curb gun violence deemed health care privacy protections "unnecessary legal barriers," making it clear federal agencies will use health information for non-health purposes, such as background checks.

2. Line up your doctors now if you're a baby boomer. If you wait until you turn 65 and go on Medicare, you won't find a doctor willing to treat you. Doctors will be paid less to care for seniors than any other patients.

3. Insist on a specialist if you have a heart problem. Obamacare requires insurers to implement HMO — like controls that will reduce use of specialists. Recent research shows that patients with unstable angina do far better at avoiding heart attacks when they are seen regularly by cardiologists.

Or perhaps reporters from MSNBC and the New York Times if you are, let's say, a brilliant black Conservative neurosurgeon...

I see two things coming from this. First, a lot of Americans traveling to Mexico for better health care; and second, “illegal, back alley medical care”.

What this latter amounts to is actually not that dramatic. Thousands of ethical young doctors have already “retired” because of Obamacare, and so will do what doctors used to do, which is practice out of their home, or a rental home.

Probably their biggest tool, blood, urine and stool tests, are already available via private testing companies for cash.

The biggest problem would then be hospitalization and surgery, for which you pretty well have to go to Mexico. But once an “underground railroad” is created, to evade both the federals, and killing-oriented euthanasia and organ transplant “care”, many people should be able to evade those problems as well.

Lots of people will horribly suffer and die, however, and until Obamacare is repealed, we all will live under its evil shadow.

An elderly person without wealth or family is in deep trouble, however. They had better move out of the US as soon as possible, or may get trapped in the Democrats’ “death care” system.

We all know that Obamcare is (a) a disaster for Americans used to receiving excellent health care and, (b) a Trojan Horse to allow the government extensive control over the lives of it's citizens. Senior citizens are as good as dead if they need acute care and we'll all pay through the nose for health insurance that will get us mediocre care, at best and significant co-pays, to boot. Yes, there will be huge resistance to the negative effects of Obamacare but, like all government 'entitlement' schemes, it will never go away. Never. In short: we're screwed, big-time.

There was a reason the Democrat senate was so frantic to get this monstrosity passed at any cost, including bribes and exemptions to various states in order to get the votes to make it law. It will go a long way to virtually enslaving Americans and making us supplicants to an autocratic government....just the way the left has always dreamed of.

BTW- Republican leaders in congress helped pass the healthcare bill by not requiring it be read into the record before the vote, it only takes ONE dissenting vote to force them to read a bill.

I believe what you lay out is a real possibility and the only way 0bamacare will get repealed is from the ever incresed suffering you point out.

Prescriptions will also be an issue. You’d probably have to order from Canada.

Every day more hideous news comes out about BaraculaCare.

Senior citizens, the working men, the family heads, the business and corporate leaders, almost the entire populace are all in turmoil......stricken with fear and dread of what lays ahead for them, both financially and physically.

And yet....not a peep from Republican leaders and rank-and-file in both houses of Congress.

No call for repeal, no nothing, nada.....

The state controlled media will make sure these sufferings never see the light of day. Out of sight, out of mind...unless you are the sufferer.

Sadly, you're correct. I've noticed none of them seem concerned, it's like it's a done deal so we'll just go along with this whole socialized medicine bull.

I still can't get Pelousi's words out of my head to pass it before we know what's in it. She's a start raving idiot at the very least.

You forgot the Med-Boat.....

I can envision Conservative Doctors working on a vessel outside in Intl waters with a pick-up spot off-shore on a British Isle so that you don't piss off Obama by trying to get aboard in FLA and you can pay in Gold if you want....

It already happens. I've known people without insurance who would make the trek, and I've known people whose insurance didn't cover a particular medication crossing over to get it at the pharmacy on the other side. But it hasn't been mainstream before now.

The new health care law is going to be a boon to Mexican clinics and pharmacies. Its an option people who live near the border will find more and more palatable as they get a closer look at whats coming.

We are coming into a world we never expected to see.

“We are coming into a world we never expected to see.”

That statement hit me with the same ill-feeling as watching the election results. One was in total dis-belief. The other is in total belief.
