It's probably standard practice for them and that makes sense! You WOULD need some advance notice, if you have a President who was raked up from some Chicago gutter and whose ONLY rhetoric is comprised of laughably blase, jejune, useless and empty phrases. (And THAT'S on his best day!!!)

I was astounded when I watched the speech. One of my thoughts was that the powers that be surely did not expect to hear what they did. Had they known in advance, I am sure they would have made sure that the invitation for Dr. Carson to speak was cancelled. Obama surely squirmed in his seat the whole time.

Obama was diminished in the presence of this great and brilliant man who spoke the truth.

I worked with a girl who didn’t know who Mahalia Jackson was... or Jesse Norman, either. However, she knew ALL about and LOVED Michael Jackson...

This is nothing new. Years ago I went to see Miles Davis in Cleveland. The place was just half full and there were only about 3 African Americans there...sitting down front and presumably, related to band members.
