Well, every progressive I’ve ever met has been brain dead, has the manners of a feral three year old, and trashes the Constitution at every opportunity, so that makes you three for three, Poindexter.

Funny, I've never met a progressive. In my circle there aren't any leftards of any stripe. Appears you have something in common with them.

In my younger days I was a sales rep for a large beer, wine and liquor distributor. We didn't handle Chivas. We had Johnnie Walker, J&B, Teachers, Ushers, Famous Grouse, Something Special, Grants, 100 Pipers, Glenlivet, White Horse and Ballantines.

Ah, so I see...you're actually in favor of pushing dope...just as long as it's your dope. And have been soaked in your own product for a long time, by your behavior.

I never said you had to accept it. You can work to change the law. Saying “Laws don’t apply to me” is what we call “anarchy”.

Oh really? And how did that work out?

James Madison actually argued against having the BOR in the Constitution. He said it would be abused by people who would use it to claim the People only have those rights that are explicitly enumeratated. Turns out he was right, and it's an ongoing fight to maintain the original intent of the document.

Perhaps we should use another strategy.

In spite of my screen name, no brain damage here. I'm 60, retired at age 53 with no debt, a small homestead in the sticks and a wonderful wife of nearly 30 years. We have both enjoyed the herb since our teenage years and have not turned into tie dye shirt wearing knuckleheads left over from Woodstock.
We tend our 100+ rhododendrons and a big vegetable garden, travel, and I put a shine on my 1930 Ford truck when necessary.
There are a certain number of posters here that are a-holes, conservative or not. It's a common thread among humanoids in general, and the line from a Seinfeld episode comes to mind. You know about people, don't you? They're the worst.
Hang in there, FRiend.

Not everything in the past was worse than today - manners and morals were (with some exceptions) superior. Or so I keep hearing from fellow FReepers - do you disagree?

Superior? In what way? What exceptions?

Overt racism was an exception. If you disagree about the general decline in manners and morals, just say so.

And the drug ban that began Prohibition is even older than its end ... so by your past-is-worse logic we should oppose drug bans.

No response?

Saying “Laws don’t apply to me”

Who has said that in the context of this article?

They were illegally growing marijuana. I seem to recall that is a crime there.

"I know it's against the law, and I know the cops have a job to do. [...] If I have to go to jail, I'll go to jail." Doesn't sound to me like “Laws don’t apply to me”.

Yes the defenders here came back with “Would you disobey the law or would you roll over?”.

Yes the defenders here

So we agree that the man in the article is not an anarchist?

came back with “Would you disobey the law or would you roll over?”.

Yes, let's talk about that question. If 0bama rams through a gun ban, is everyone who defies that ban an anarchist?
