...in 2009, when unemployment hit a 70-year high for the state, the California State University-Sacramento study came out.
DeVore said the study laid out how Californias energy policy led to the highest gasoline tax and the costliest electricity in the country. No wonder, he said, that people will move out of California and go to Texas.
DeVore said even Canadians have figured out how to profit off the states regulatory culture. California imports a lot of electricity, but it has to be green, said DeVore. BC Power, in British Columbia, which got caught manipulating energy costs in 2001, exports hydroelectric power to California at a very high profit.
But the irony is BC Power has to import its own electricity because of how much it sends to California and it comes from power generated by coal from the state of Washington and the province of Alberta. The coal is cheaper and in the big climate picture, its use negates Californias use of cleaner hydroelectric power. Meaning Californias policies achieved no actual reductions in greenhouse gases.
The challenge for California is these policies lead to a higher cost of living, DeVore explained. Land use is restricted in California. Housing costs 176 percent of the national average. The cost of living is 33 percent higher than in Texas. Its a big deal. It means we have to pay a lot more to work here in California.

State legislators dont have the same appreciation of the private sector in California that they do in Texas. DeVore said his research found that in California, only 18 percent of Democratic lawmakers have a private sector background. In Texas, 75 percent of the lawmakers, all part-time legislators, come from the private sector.

From being a California Senate candidate, to becoming a proud Texan, that kind of says it all.
You mean they still have a GOP in California—poor lonely things. They should just call it a day and disband—California will be blue forever— They are an endangered species.
What may save conservatives in California is the new law elections cannot be unopposed. So it is possible to have 2 demonratic candidates running against each other. If I lived in California I’d seriously think about registering as a democrats and the running as a conservative democrat to avoid the smears and stereotypes
Which realistically means dumb against dumber with a guaranteed level of dumb winning each time. I guess that is a form of Social Justice there.
The sad part is that California actually has term limits and Texas does not. The laws in CA were implemented in the mid '90s and had only a positive effect for about 5 minutes before it was back to business as usual. Labor unions own California, and that dearth of individuals from the private sector serving in office is one of the key reasons for CA being a basketcase. Visceral hostility to business.
Might work if you ran for Congress, but for all of one term before being run out. You wouldn’t last that long in the state legislature before being swiftly recalled.
Shocked?
Why?
California is a goner and is now nothing more than a dying patent that doctors bring interns into the room to see what terminal looks like.
To any common sense C-O-N-S-E-R-V-A-T-I-V-E-S left in CA...
GET OUT. GO TO TEXAS. WE NEED YOU HERE.
The communists now have a plan to force Texas to go commie blue. What you are seeing in a terminal California is exactly what they have planned for Texas.
And if Texas goes, the Republic is lost for sure.
We need to crush it like armadillo road kill. The best way to do that is to have California "escaped survivors" that can counter the communists upcoming efforts here in Texas.
...that will fall on deaf ears.
California is a lost cause.

DeVore was preaching to the choir. Presumably, everybody in the room understands that California is dead and gone. "Communicate"? I don't think so. As DeVore himself said, In California, [Democratic lawmakers] are mostly community organizers. That's because in California the Democrats have a nearly limitless supply of illiterate, ignorant hordes to "organize", ie., buy votes from with the "free stuff" they confiscate from people who get up and go to work every day. You know, the people who are "fleeing".
