Sequester: Obama to dine with Republican senators (tonight!)
BBC ^ | March 6, 2012 | BBC

US President Barack Obama has invited a group of Republican senators for dinner in an effort to advance budget negotiations, the White House has said.

Not invited were Republican leaders, with whom Mr Obama's budget talks in recent weeks had stalled.

(snip)

Wednesday's dinner follows several phone calls the president has held in recent days with Republican senators, some of whom have responded warmly to the gesture.

"This is how you solve hard problems," South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham told the Associated Press.

(snip)

The move suggests Mr Obama hopes to consolidate support among a group of Republicans who appear prepared to negotiate, analysts say.

So far we have:
1. Lindsey Graham (known)
2. Richard Burr (good guess)
3. Susan Collins (good guess)

I am guessing Lamar Alexander can be added to the list.

Exactly!! Notice Rand has just a handful of Senators giving him a hand today. Rino’s go to WH. Doesn’t take a scholar to figure out who the cast of characters are.

Hoeven and Johanns are surprising to me. The rest are known squishes, and Toomey is a faggot hugger to boot. Very surprised Lamar Alexander and Susan Collins are not on that list, but maybe Ubama figures he’s already got them in the bag, and they’ll go along with this crowd anyway.

Ronald Reagan used to breakfast with Dem Speaker of the House Tip O’Niell once a week....

——but then, Ronald Reagan was a classy President able to cope with opposition, ....which is something we don’t have right now.

Who was invited?
If we still had a free press we'd already know.

This is just a charade so he can say he’s trying to find a solution to the problem he created. He’s playing these RINOs like a dime store kazoo.

Spending tax money for a party during the sequester...

Reminds me of a Poe story- Masque Of The Red Death.

Exactly, Reagan would dine with leaders, not losers.

“This is how you solve hard problems,” South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham told the Associated Press.
*******************************************************************
Little Lindsey must have some sort of promise from Karl Rove to be acting so confident. Graham’s normal routine is to pretend to be 100% conservative in the last 2 years of a Senate term.

Now that Tim Scott (who was the South Carolinian who I envisioned as handing Lindsey his hat in the 2014 Republican primary) is no longer available, I hope the SC conservatives put up some strong conservative opponents to challenge Graham in the 2014 primary. If, in that primary, Lindsey doesn’t meet the threshold needed to avoid a runoff he would be dead meat in the runoff against a good conservative opponent.

I’ll be contributing to at least one of his primary opponents. Hell, I so want this weak sister gone I might just pack up my family and move to South Carolina so we can add our votes and volunteer efforts to his opposition.

My favoprite of his performances, but he always gave more than merely a sufficient exposition of his character.
And here he is on radio as Charteris’ “The Saint” (Simon Templar). http://archive.org/details/TheSaintVincentPriceOTR

But Poe’s timelessness and his ability to depict the utter foolishness of Man!

What Obama really said was that he was having several Republican senators for dinner.

All I can say is I saw Sen Johnson afterwards on Greta and he looked like he could not be trusted. Wouldn’t ever look the camera in the eye and to me looked like he sold his soul to the devil tonight.
Obviously I don’t know what happened tonight at that dinner but I was very disturbed by the change I saw in Sen. Johnson since I saw him a few days ago on Greta.
