There is no going back now.....Rand must seize this opportunity to take the reins of the party......it cannot wait.

[But Holder then admitted, no, the U.S. government doesn’t have the authority to target U.S. citizens at home who are not involved in hostilities.]

...and guess who defines hostilities.

"That flared into an open spat...

I love the passive voice here.

John McCain made it an "open spat" when he decided to spit on the freedoms and protections from Government that many Americans take for granted.

Like judicial review for example. Like that whole "we are a nation of laws not of men" concept.

The only one who "spat" was McCain.

It’s not the changing of the guard. It’s just another wedge between the Conservatives and the Republicans.

I wonder if SENATE MAJORITY LEADER wouldn't be a good title for Senator Paul in January 2015?
Then to further dream, “former Senator John McCain in January 2017.
Now that is two things that do give me warm and fuzzy dreams.

“McCain, along with his closest amigo, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), openly slammed Paul, calling him “uninformed”

McStain must have missed the first 12 hours of Rand Paul speaking. Oh wait he was out to dinner with Oblahblah cutting another losing deal to jam down our throats.

I stand with Rand. I want my freedom back!

I listened to more than a few hours of the filibuster. Rand sounded like a man who actually believes in the constitution - that is good enough for me.

Finally felt like we had a chance at liberty again - and I haven’t felt that way in YEARS!

For the life of me, I don’t understand why liberals continue to defend this president. There’s really so much common ground to be made between the left and right. Senator Rand Paul’s filibuster highlighted at least one: the right of Americans to be tried in a court of law rather than be bombed in the dark of night via a drone. Liberals used to believe in innocence until proven guilty.

Rand Paul showed how the GOP old guard like Juan McVain and his closeted, I mean closest buddy Lindsey Grahamnesty are nothing more than palace eunuchs for the Democrat Regime.

He also showed what a healthy, vibrant political party is supposed to do when our liberties are under assault.

Can anyone out there give me an example of 2 politicians - regardless of party or ideology - where one is further up the other one’s @ss than gramnesty is up mcpain’s @ss?
I mean - seriously - it’s surreal. I’ve never seen anything like it...

I like Ted Cruz so far.

I don’t like the guy who voted for Hagel.

Awww. Guess he’ll have to keep doing it the old fashioned way, by giving guns to drug cartels and letting them blow away a few border agents.

I hope this sinks in with the whole “you aren’t a real conservative if you are a libertarian” set on here. I believe this is a real wakeup call for the leadership of the GOP... or at least the really dim bulbs that keep voting for this failed leadership.

McCain and Graham had a real hissy fit over this - priggy Graham going so far as to say the issue about Americans getting hit by a drone while drinking coffee was not even worthy of discussion - methinks there was a big bit of jealousy in their reaction - the guard, with the likes of Paul, Rubio, and Cruz, looks like it is changing - and leaving John and Lindsey way behind.....

AZ GOP voters should be ashamed of themselves for not retiring McCain. The good voters of Indiana kicked Lugar out or he would have been enjoying the msm’s attention by clucking about Paul’s inappropriate filibuster, too.

The old moss-backs of the Republican Party should be primaries at every opportunity. They are no longer fit to serve.

I may not agree with everything Rand Paul says and stands for, but he has definitely raised questions that needed to be raised and highlighted issues that needed to be highlighted. He is doing what leaders do, and if leadership of the party shifts in his direction then I have no doubt that he’ll do a better job than the current crop of party leaders have been doing.

When Tea Party mentality Senators and Reps outnumber GOP bluebloods and RINOs, then we’ll have a changing of the guard.

Not before.

Pogues like McCain and Graham can and will do damage to us. They can’t be trusted.
