NY Times Buries Sen. Paul's Filibuster
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 03/07/2013 5:46:33 PM PST by chessplayer

Republican Sen. Rand Paul's filibuster on Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to rule out drone strikes against U.S. citizens, which ended early Thursday morning, was absent from the front page of Thursday's New York Times. The Times buried its coverage of Paul's striking "talking" filibuster, in which he held the floor for nearly 13 hours, ostensibly in opposition to Obama's choice of John Brennan for CIA director. Brennan was serving as a proxy for Paul's demand that Holder rule out drone strikes on American citizens or on U.S. soil.

Well, what do you expect from the most prodigious anti-American, pro-socialist excuse for a newspaper?

The reason is they don't want the far left base hearing about this.

Over at DU there are quite a few people appreciating what Paul did.

Just like they buried the holocaust. These guys do more burying than a Soviet gravedigger.

The New York Times also 'buried' the truth about millions of Russians starving to death on 'collective' farms.

The old 'it takes a village to feed a nation' crap. Killed millions of Russians.

The New York Times writer in charge of burying that story got a Pulitzer Prize... good old Walter Duranty - one of the very first of the New York Times' liberal butt kissers...

I do wish there were some WEALTHY CONSERVATIVES that could buy the NY Times, fire the necessary people, and have them start REPORTING on the news, rather than trying to “change the world”.

Too bad though, we don’t seem to have any that want to step up, so we’re left to Whine.

IMO, Sen. Paul has changed the terms of the debate.

His filibuster was `the shot heard round the world’, so no wonder the old grey hen wants to suppress it.

I watched the NBC nightly news with Brian Williams to see if there would be a mention of the Filibuster. Unless I slipped into a coma during the broadcast, it was not mentioned.

I don’t normally watch Television and certainly not television news, however, last night I raced home from work and turned on the TV. It still works! I watched the ABC news. I live in Kentucky and excitedly awaited the news on my senator and how the mainstream press would handle what was happening, they ignored it!. There was a story about some guy surfing on a 78 foot wave but not even one word about the filibuster.

My poor wife had to put up with my statements of incredulity for the rest of the evening. I, fortunately was able to find the filibuster on the web and watched Dr. Paul until his bladder gave out. My other senator, the Senate Minority Leader gave a short, weak statement of support for Senator Paul.

I hope Paul runs for President, he sounds so down to earth, I don’t know how anyone could not like him.

I am becoming a Paul supporter, I fortunately was able to vote for him for Senator and look forward to voting for him again to reverse the nonsense of the last four plus years.
