Sen. Rand Paul: My filibuster was just the beginning
WAPO ^ | Friday, March 8, 5:47 PM | Rand Paul

Posted on 03/08/2013 4:19:32 PM PST by Dacula

If I had planned to speak for 13 hours when I took the Senate floor Wednesday, I would’ve worn more comfortable shoes. I started my filibuster with the words, “I rise today to begin to filibuster John Brennan’s nomination for the CIA. I will speak until I can no longer speak” — and I meant it.

I wanted to sound an alarm bell from coast to coast. I wanted everybody to know that our Constitution is precious and that no American should be killed by a drone without first being charged with a crime.

~McCain reminds me of Robert the Bruce’s father in Braveheart.~

Bump!

Time for the GOP to stop hiding, stand up and take over.

Sigh. Cruz is not eligible because he was not born on US soil.

Yikes. I looked it up. I'm pretty "up" on current events but did not know that. Guess I pin my hopes on Rand at this point.

There's [unfortunately] a long time before the next election, though.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Cruz as my Senator. :D

But, can’t change what is. Cruz should stay on as a Senator and hopefully Senate majority leader.

Considering the fact that Brennan is a Muslim, he would never place his hand on a Holy Bible. He would certainly melt into a greasy spot on the floor.

As a Christian, I know what is coming down the pike toward my country. After standing by and letting millions of the unborn be slaughtered and now this country is sanctioning perversion as normal, we have brought this on ourselves.

It’s gonna get a WHOLE lot worse. In 5 years, you will not recognize this country.

God have mercy on us. We are about to reap the whirlwind!

Sen. Rand Paul: My filibuster was just the beginning

I don't doubt that. I've been on his e-mail list for some time and he is always busy. He is big on pro-life, civil liberties, government waste and spending issues to name a few. His rhetoric is the strongest I have heard from any pol. Rand Paul isn't looking to take any prisoners.

One also notes that they were deported from the US.
It should probably happen more. Never to set foot in
the continental US.
Wasn’t there a guy that was put aboard various US ships
never to set foot on US soil again? Revolutionary war?
War of 1812? If the ship was bound for the US he was
transfered off shore...I remember reading about it in
school, but that was a loooong time ago, when they taught
American History.

That is from a short story, “A Man without a Country”, by Edward Everett Hale. It’s only fiction.

Oh well, interesting that the US deported those two to
occupied Germany though.

My hard left friends were cheering Paul.

A caller in to Rush, yesterday, said that his lib and even gay friends (up in the NE somewhere) were cheering Rand on, too.

See? No *reaching across the aisle, compromising or pandering* necessary!

Amen!

Cruz believes it in his heart, and does not get rowed up with sideshows.
He stays steadfast.

We could use more like him.

Cruz’s parents were both American citizens at the time of his birth.

If My wife dropped a Son while we were in Italy, would my child be any less of an American citizen?

No.
We would have a canoli, celebrate and go home.

Sigh. Cruz is not eligible because he was not born on US soil. The Canal Zone is US soil, which is why McCain is eligible and Cruz is not.
