WASHINGTON — Eight senators who have spent weeks trying to write a bipartisan bill to overhaul immigration laws have privately agreed on the most contentious part of the draft — how to offer legal status to the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants.

The illegals won’t even go for this. A large percentage are on assistance and don’t want to lose that.

We don’t even know that for sure. Could be some Iranian sleeper cells that learned Spanish.

Exactly!! Rubios Amnesty plan was no different than Obama other than a longer waiting period and E-verification. Too many conservatives have been deluded into believing Rubio is a conservative in the mold of Sen Cruz or something. No he’s not if one simple looks at who is pushing him on -— GOPE!

Reward foreign criminals for breaking the law, but fine and imprison US citizens for seatbelt violations, theft, and failing to fund the DC lawyers and politicians. Is there any value to being a citizen? Ask how many citizens would like to be rewarded for breaking the law. Scratchy ropes should be the reward of any politician who rewards foreign criminals.

Seems like someone is in a rush to destroy America completely.

Just imagine if the 50 million promising mothers who aborted and the 100’s of millions who were aborted by contraceptives had given us the votes we need to stop this insanity.

You can laugh Nana , but all of these thing are pertinent IMO.

Some of the people have been here 10 or 155 years or longer, If they cannot speak English, it’s because they don’t want to. If they don’t want to they can GTF back to where they came from.

My post was tongue-in-cheek...

An illegal alien who has been here for 27 years and has to have an interpreter to tell the TV reporter that he loves living here in the US and doesnt want to be deported is a farce...

Plus while I as an immigrant back in 1971 I had to promise I would not apply for welfare and signed a document that stated I understood I would or could be jailed and deported if I did apply, illegal aliens are under no such threat..

I paid taxes as soon as I started work after receiving my green card.. the Alien Registration Card..

Citizenship..Everything I had to do BEFORE I arrived here was leading to future citizenship...

If i was good enough to immigrate, I was good enough to be a citizen ...

When I arrived here I only needed time in country...

Felonies I would have been deported after I served in prison, misdemenours I could be deported...and never invited back either situations..

Pasing the test...I had 20 oral questions none from any ready list...I got one on the number of SC justices wrong instead of 9 I said 12...I remember that shame now 38 years later..

I also had to prove I could speak, understand and write English..

and I was from an English speaking country, New Zealand...

But hey that was in another universe...

Rubio is finished in my eyes just for working on this with Schumer and Durbin.>>>>>>>Not aimed at you Williams but this is just another hot-button issue that will follow the same pattern. 1)Outrage will be everywhere when the illegals get their citizenship path (esp. here on FR) 2)Rubio and the other traitors will be persona non grata here (remember Mitt Romney?) 3) All kinds of yelling and screaming about the GOPe not getting any more support if they nominate any of the traitors 4)We need a CONSERVATIVE PARTY fervor when the GOP nominates a RINO 5)We can't have a third party, we have to support the GOP or the Libs will win (ask Presidents McCain and Romney how well that worked) 6)Hilary gets sworn in Jan. '17 and we go back to #1 again with another hot button issue as we continue our slide into Socialism/Communism.

RE :”The illegals won’t even go for this. A large percentage are on assistance and don’t want to lose that.”

If History is any indicator they will put lots of loopholes in the bill and pass it in the middle of the night 12 hours after it is written and we wont find out till few weeks later. Be sure if they have kids here that will be loophole.

But don't worry, no matter how bad the bill is we will be told what a great deal Rubio, McCain and Grahamnesty got.

I been hearing them say that the GOP needs ‘immigration reform’ to get Asian American votes. Does that mean there are lots of Asian who overstayed their Visas? (and their relatives want amnesty?) Or did Asians vote Dem for completely different reasons?

Actually that is the ideal amnesty plan, one they never sign up for.

I don’t see what everyone is upset about. Once the GOP narrows it down to Rubio, Jeb or Christe, half of FR will start rah rahing them as the only hope for conservatism and all their amnesty will be forgotten.

And anyone disagreeing and pointing out today is a traitor, hates America and HAS to vote for one of them. And if anyone says it won’t happen ‘again’, I note that the same kabuki play repeats every time the GOP wants to force another liberal on us.

And yet so many ‘conservatives’ here and elsewhere DEMAND we do it again and again because the world will end if we don’t.

Except the world IS pretty much ending thanks to their cunning plans to move the country right by voting for leftist republicans.

Eventually they will either admit it or choke on it. But facts are facts.

I’m pretty much convinced that the ‘conservatives’ who push the rinos all the time agree with them, and the left. The enemy within # 1...is Grover Norquist & John McCain, all the rest of the crud seems to flow from there.

I agree. But I also think that the enemy is much closer to home. Because without the sheer number of people shilling for the RINO establishment here and elsewhere, the establishment would not have a fraction of the evershrinking power it does.

Anyone who has ever studied propaganda can recognize in a heartbeat what is going on. All it takes is a couple agents provocateur to planta few ‘the world will end’ scenarios, (as we see -EVERY- election) and most of the sheep calling themselves conservative go into Rambo mode and become hyperpatriots.

Except they defend America from the forces of ‘evil’ who believe in the party platform and traditional principles of conservatism.

Do a search on the words “Purist” and “Purity” here in the last 8 months. You will see both the APs and the hyperpatriots running around condemning people and using those words like Klanners screaming ‘NXCCer/!!!” at a Stone Mountain rally.

Overandoverandoverandoverandover......

The reality is that the Dems don't need an amnesty to become the permanent majority party. Each year we bring in 1.2 million LEGAL immigrants who will vote two to one for the Democrats. An amnesty just hastens the process of changing the demography of this country. Every ten years of legal immigration equals an amnesty.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 315 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by an additional 130 million to 445 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.9% (2012 estimate,) principally due to immigration.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million. Of the 40 million immigrants in the country in 2010, 13.9 million arrived in 2000 or later making it the highest decade of immigration in American history, even though there was a net loss of jobs during the decade. Growth in the immigrant population has primarily been driven by high levels of legal immigration. Roughly three-fourths of immigrants in the country are here legally. With nearly 12 million immigrants, Mexico was by far the top immigrant-sending country, accounting for 29 percent of all immigrants and 29 percent of growth in the immigrant population from 2000 to 2010. The median age of immigrants in 2010 was 41.4 compared to 35.9 for natives.

The GOP is so busy pandering to Mexicans that they haven't noticed how much they've alienated their core base of Americans who want immigration laws enforced.

Even if the GOP adopts an open borders platform identical to the Democrats, their beloved Mexicans will still overwhelmingly spurn them and for the Democratic party for economic reasons, and because the Democrats are the party of minority ethnic nationalism. Meanwhile, millions of people who want something done about our porous border and America's transformation into Mexico del Norte will just stay home in future elections because the Republican party has nothing to offer them.

They don't call the GOP the stupid party for nothing. What else do you call chasing after imaginary votes while chasing off a large block of voters that they already have?
