This week, two Maryland House committees will review Gov. Martin O’Malley’s Firearms Safety Act of 2013, a bill that would ban ‘assault’ weapons and ‘high’ capacity magazines as well as require licensing and fingerprinting for all gun buyers.
Versions of the bill have already passed the full state House and state Senate, but the latest draft of the bill is now sitting before the House Judiciary committee and House Government Operations committee, both will give it a final vote before potentially sending it to the governor’s desk for his signature.
Rep. Jill P. Carter, one of the lawmakers who will decide the fate of the O’Malley’s Firearms Safety Act, has said that while she supports the bill, she is also open to amending it.
“My constituents have overwhelmingly requested support for the governor’s bill,” she told the Baltimore Sun. “If it’s something they overwhelmingly want, it’s my obligation to do so.” Adding, however, “If there are other reasonable changes suggested from our work group, I’m amenable to them.”

The definition of an ASSAULT weapon is very simple and only 7(seven) words long....

Nope the gun grabbers rely upon a loosely defined understanding of the term “assualt weapon.” It allows the listener, mostly LIV to supply their own uninformed idea of what that is. Kinda like Hope and Change.....left up to the listener to define what that exactly meant without holding Obama to a measureable standard.......
The Dems (gun-grabbers all) want an ill-defined concept that they can readily demonize.....
At least they are now coming out of the closet with their long held agenda of overturnibg the 2nd Amendment and banning all guns. Heck with Obamacare/FEMA they have all the camps/ovens ready for business/customers......

We need another firarms company and the jobs. Besides, the cost of operation would be much lower. And less regulation to live with.
When I was in the USAF stationed in the DC area, my wife and I spent a few week-ends with them and noted that, each morning before breakfast, her husband peeked out the window. When I asked him why, he told me that nearly all of his neighbors “worked” for the federal government and if any of their cars remained in their driveways, he was pleased that they wouldn’t be downtown wasting paper clips and making life miserable for other citizens.

That is, indeed, a bitter pill for citizens to swallow; for leftist extremists, however, it's of no concern whatever. Their goal is to deliver a hard slap across the face to the Second Amendment and all those commoners who dare assert it means exactly what it says. It's all about expressing white hot blind hatred: nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, and they should bring some Beretta Cheetahs with them when they come. Just try to find one with a 13 rd mag..There are none to be found.
Here in Virginia, we like having Maryland just to the north of us. It reminds us things could always be worse.
