SOUTHFIELD–

A Southfield teen is dead after being shot by an undercover officer with the Oakland County Sheriff’s office. Officials say it happened Tuesday afternoon during a drug investigation at Cornerstone Condos near Greenfield and 9 Mile Road in Southfield.

Police say during the investigation, the suspect pointed his weapon at one of the undercover agents with the Narcotics Enforcement Team. That’s when police say the officer shot the suspect.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No one else was injured.

Well he probably did, but there's only one side of the story that will ever be heard. Moral of the story don't aim unless you're going to shoot.

“But he was such a good boy” his grandmother was heard to say. His father could not be reached for comment.

Exactly. Pointing a gun at anyone is deadly business. Either shoot or be prepared to accept the possibility that you will get shot and killed.

“pointed his weapon at the officer”

Was the weapon legal? Did the “teen” have the right to be carrying? Will the left ever start taking guns from violent criminals?

“my boy is a good boy”

“that the victim had aimed “
The victim? What victim? The writer of the article was trying to sneak that in hoping that we wouldn’t notice but would still be influenced by it.
The cop refused to become a victim.

“The writer of the article was trying to sneak that in hoping that we wouldn’t notice but would still be influenced by it.”

I didn’t write the article. When I referred to the dead kid as a victim, I wasn’t trying to evoke any emotional response. You should know better than to assume so much.

In Michigan, anyone 18 and older can buy a handgun, from a private individual.

If the seller is a holder of a FFL, the purchaser must be 21 years of age or there is a felony being committed.

No one in Michigan under the age of 21 may be in possession of ammunition for a handgun.

These kinds of silly BS firearms laws have put many people in jail.
