Charlie Rangel Goes off the Liberal Plantation
GodFatherPolitics.com ^ | Mar 12, 2013 | Gary DeMar

Posted on 03/13/2013 4:58:27 PM PDT by wesagain

New York Congressman Charlie Rangel was asked by MSNBC anchor and openly homosexual Thomas Roberts what he thought about the next Pope and the direction of the Catholic Church. Here was Rangel’s response:

“I hope they stick by their guns on same-sex marriage and telling a woman what she should do with her body.”

Wow! Where has Charlie been all these years? Let’s see if the Gaystapo go after him to force an apology out of him. It doesn’t take them long to hunt down anyone who utters a word against their so-called lifestyle choice.

Liberals will attack Rangel by saying that he’s old and senile. He doesn’t know what he’s saying. The man’s 83 years old. What do you expect?

It’s also possible that the media will not report on the story. They don’t like to see one of their own flee the liberal plantation. Thomas Roberts was caught off guard. He had no idea that Rangel, a liberal Democrat, would ever say such a thing.

No one has to join the Roman Catholic Church. If you don’t like the church’s positions on abortion and homosexuality, then don’t become a Roman Catholic. If you don’t like the rules regarding celibacy (which I think are unbiblical and against nature), then don’t become a priest.

I will take exception to Rangel on his abortion comment. The fight against abortion is not about telling a woman what she should do with her body. The point of the argument is that a pre-born baby is not part of a woman’s body. A pre-born baby is not like..........

“I hope they stick by their guns on same-sex marriage and telling a woman what she should do with her body.”

Sounds sarcastic to me.

i thought this as well. i believe he hopes they do this so that people like himself can continue to use christianity in general as a whipping boy for their divide and conquer, dialectic tactics.

Isn't Rangel the guy who keeps trying to bring back the draft? I think that effort is quite obviously NOT an effort to bring back the draft, but an effort to either weaken the military (if the effort were to work) or an effort to "demonstrate" that Americans don't want "their" children sent to the front lines. I think Rangel is deeply cynical and evil. He declares support for the thing he opposes,as a strategy to get what he really wants.

Sick and evil and twisted.

Whoever writes this blog should change it to, “Fredo Politics,” because he is an idiot.

Yes, if he was genuinely pro-life he wouldn’t use that wording. Definitely being sarcastic.

Rangel is an old-fashioned crooked politician.

I don’t think he’s cool with the newer sort, who champion perverse lifestyles at the same time as they’re looting the treasury.

I guess that makes him a better sort of crook.

Pimps stick to their guns on same-sex marriage and telling a woman what she should do with her body, and that's not racist, because 99% of all pimps are white.

Looks like someone missed the point.

Rangel thinks sticking to their guns would be a BAD THING for Catholics and Republicans.

He thinks that the more enlightened (like him) know better about homos and abortion

“Is this your blog?”

Sure seems like it.

I don’t know that I’d be so quick to admit ownership of it were it mine, thigh, if this post is any example of the overall quality.

I too have been curious about Rangel’s love affair
regarding the draft. I suspect his motives. He figures
that if there was a draft then it would be more difficult for
the government to commit the troops to military
actions because it would incite massive national
protests ala the Vietnam era.

I don't think he's been coy about his motives at all. He wants to make it harder to commit our military to action, either by the protests that would erupt from the people eligible for a draft or by ensuring that children of the wealthy and powerful would also be in harm's way.

I’ve heard Charlie rant about the offspring of the
wealthy regarding military service and the draft
but I have never actually heard him admit that
he supports it because it would turn out the
protesters enmasse if Uncle Sam decided we
needed to do some overseas killing. But, then,
following Rangel’s career is not a hobby for me
or you, I would assume.
