Actually, having my little tablet with me made it not so much of a pain.

I have plantar fasciitis...rather common in a job where you stand for hours....and have some things to do to get it healed. Including wearing sneakers, which we’re normally not allowed to do. I have a note. :) Now have to go find some that don’t look like boats. LOL!

Hope your day slows a bit soon! Take a coffee break! :)

Get some of those nurses’ shoes that have the springs in the heels. That’ll keep you on your toes!

When I read the first post, ‘plantar fashiitis’ is what I was going to say the diagnosis would be. I got the same from my doc 3-4 years ago. I changed shoes and spent less time on my feet, and have almost no pain at all now.

Hi, Jinxie!

Well, I work totally on my feet for at least 5 hours a day...hard slate floore..so sitting isn’t an option. I did find some with a very good arch support, though, and hope they work. He also showed me a stretching exercise to do. We’ll see what happens. :)

A couple days ago, I ran into a fellow patient at the doctor's office, who was selling poetry books that his daughter wrote. Be Still and Know, by Vickie Lathan McCorkle. I like this one, and I think you will too.

My Dad
I guess sometimes we wonder what a Dad should really be
I've got a good example in the Father sent to me!
They're big and strong, with lots of hair and seem to know it all
They want to hear from us each day, so we better call
They know our needs and seem to find the words we need to hear
It's in our Dad we put our trust and learn not to fear
A Dad loves you when he knows a dress is the best thing
To buy this dress, he'll sell his cows or do most anything
He'll never fully understand the things girls like to do
But this doesn't matter 'cause I know his love is true
A Dad drops by unannounced: he wants to check on you
He often brings you vegetables and tells you what to do!
A Dad has a way, you see he teaches us each day
It's really how you treat someone and what you have to say
It's easier to find the best in all we say and do
A Dad is proud no matter what he's always proud of you
Now God I'd like to thank you for the Dad you sent my way
My heart is filled and this you know I really want to say
In all the world I couldn't find a better Dad you see
'Cause all in all, He's the best, He's the Dad for me!
