CANCUN, Mexico — Two masked men armed opened fire in a bar on the outskirts of the Mexican tourist resort of Cancun on Thursday, killing six people and wounding five, the office of the state's attorney general said.
Public Safety Secretary Jesus Aiza says most of the victims belonged to a taxi drivers union.
Aiza says the assailants arrived at "The Mermaid" bar in a poor area far from Cancun's hotel zone in two cars Thursday afternoon. He says two gunmen using automatic rifles went inside and began shooting.

I’m pretty sure that besides F & F we, the US, sell directly to the Mexican military around 17,000 to 20,000 guns a year and who knows where those get to.

I went to San Jose del Cabo two years ago and it was beautiful, and plenty safe. Walked around town several times off the resort I was at. Additionally, I’ve been to Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta twice in the last 4 years, all perfectly safe. Next year is Riviera Maya.
If you base your travel plans on something like this than don’t even think about traveling to Chicago, LA, New York, etc...
