Face it, folks.

The ‘rats take over the House in ‘14, you don’t need to worry about elections after that.

We’ll just be Chicago/Cook County writ large, without any property or rights anywhere but the hands of The Favored.

....or maybe those who go on fighting for ‘em.

Hello Twotone,

Don’t recall seeing you around here much but glad you’re here.

You are, of course, quite correct.

The pubs need to work on their message, they need to change the dynamic.

They are terrible at it.

I don’t have answers but I did quite enjoy CPAC this weekend.

Buck up....we got some good ones out there and I really don’t think Sarah Palin’s going away.

Lord I loved her Big Gulp and her comment that Republican “architechs” should go back to Texas.

Heh.

Reince Priebus actually making news this morning with Shieffer re the next presidential election.

He is calling for shorter campaign - earlier convention, fewer debates, more control over debate moderators, more changes in campaign finance regulations...

Your ire is well=placed REH but let me ask you something.

I just got home from church and have not seen Albright yet. I do have DVR so might see later.

But why didn’t whoever she was talking to/being interviewed by ASK THE SAME QUESTION?

Hell I’ll show them how....”Secretary Albright, if you don’t know why the U.S. went to Iraq then why did you support such a move at the time it was an issue?

or something.

Yep, 2014 is an immediate issue & I’d love to see another 2010 election. But we have to get our message expressed in the emotional terms the leftists use & we need to start broadcasting it now.

I’m working with the Oregon Citizens Lobby, going up to our state capitol each Thursday to help track legislation & block the bad stuff. There’s just so much of it - Nanny state run amuck. People don’t have a clue what they’re up to, & won’t until they get dragged into court & fined for tethering their animal. Yes, there’s a bill to ban tethering, so people who don’t have a fenced yard will be forced to get rid of their pet or face fines. It is just so depressing...

Hi Pat! Actually, I’m almost always here. But I usually lurk. Since there isn’t much activity today, I’m not catching up reading everyone else’s posts & can comment myself. :-)

It speaks volumes that the regime is threatening any of the survivors of Benghazi who dare to speak will bear the consequences. This is the Chicago way. This is how the regime operates in everything they do. Sheer unstoppable intimidation of anyone declared an enemy.

In the end Benghazi will be declared a CIA event and all info will be declared to secret. It's how nations are destroyed.

Heh,.

I was born, well I’ll tell ya....

Patricia Ann McLaughlin

Irish is a big thing with us.

However, just as an aside, St. Patrick’s day was the day the father of my child died.

Yes, he was my husband at the time, don’t get snarky. But I don’t want to say my husband died because I have a husband who is very much alive.

My daughter’s father died when she was only three.

HIS mother, my mother-in-law, as well as my daughter’s grandmother, also died on St. Patrick’s day, though many years later.

Just a little fact of life.

I did wear green to church today, though.

Aren’t there people with deep pockets on our side who would be willing to fund such an ad campaign? We really need to force our message across & the only way to beat the media is to advertize past them.

Unfortunately, the message and communicating it is not the problem. Limited government and lower taxes don't reasonate with the permanent underclass that wants more free stuff from the government and they already don't pay any incomce taxes. The culture of dependency has taken hold.

The Dems are the party of minorities and their numbers are growing every year thanks to immigration and birth rates. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2042 half of the country will be minorities.

Each year sees an increase in Dem voters as another voter cohort turns 18 and another wave of immigrants obtain their citizenship. And the GOP loses voters as another cohort dies off. Demography is destiny. We are being colonized by the Third World.

Christie being dis-invited to cpac2013 is a good sign.
I really don’t think Jeb is going anywhere. The dems have made the name Bush toxic and with 43 never defending his name he created political suicide for the Bush name for some years to come, IMHO.

Forgive me for posting to myself, but I don’t see Bray here today.

Just wanted to tell him that his essay today was especially brilliant.

Anyway, today I am making Reuben soup.

It involves sauerkraut, corned beef, half and half, broth....well I dunno....

We shall see.

I should have a couple of bowls left, put in your orders now.

If all that happens it will be near impossible to win national elections.Especially, if Hispanics actually begin voting.

I can't give up even though many things look insurmountable. Just the thought that so many of our side sat at home last time gives me hope that they will come to their senses this time.2014 my be very telling. We shall see.

I wish I had the confidence you have in Ryan. I see him as part of the Establishment. He voted for TARP. He joined Cantor and McCarthy in writing their book, "Young Guns." Ryan is also an amnesty supporter.

Ryan's latest budget plan is better than the first as he now seeks to balance the budget in 10 years. I fear that some sort of compromise or "Grand Bargain" with the Dems will increase taxes and kick the "savings" down the road. It will have some ameliorative impact on the short term deficits, but will not solve our long term problems with entitlements. Tax and spend will prevail.

But the media is already carrying her water & intending for the next ‘historical’ presidency (first woman).

There are rumblings that the Dems could get a twofer -- some are pushing for Michelle to run. That would result in the 'first woman' and an authentic 'Black' who was down for the struggle, Selma, yada yada yada.

Limited gov’t & lower taxes may not resonate, but young men hanging around, unemployed with no prospects, living in dilapidated housing in Detroit, compared to a bustling Dallas where there are good jobs with prospects for a good life WOULD resonate. You show them the difference, then you explain why. I think it can be done in a fairly concise ad, ending with “What kind of life to YOU want?”

We have to do what the left does - give the pathetic situation to pull at heartstrings. And then we need to appeal to the head.

That would be good. Shorten the primary season. In both 2008 and 2012 my state primary was held so late in the spring that it was irrelevant. The nominee had already been determined WEEKS before.

Main Street Republicans were originally Mitt Romney’s Gang back in the late 90’s early 2000’s. They are a band of wimps.
