Jeb Bush: The Road to Republican Revival
Wall Street Journal ^ | March 15, 2013 | Jeb Bush

Posted on 03/17/2013 7:01:19 AM PDT by Innovative

America could be on the threshold of its greatest century.

With new drilling technologies, the United States will soon have an energy surplus. This means trillions of dollars in new wealth and a foreign policy not dominated by oil. ....

But the bright future is at risk if the federal government continues on its arc of irresponsibility. America's government-spending addiction and its lackluster system of public education are the two greatest impediments to achieving the country's potential.

I know conservatives have the solution. As governor of Florida, I balanced the state budget for eight years in a row while cutting taxes every year.

First, America needs a government that allows both small people to rise and large businesses to fail. Government has a role in regulating, but its role shouldn't include picking the winners and losers.

“But I think that the Republican party needs to wake up and focus on a Reagan-like optimism and positive energy and message of how do we are going to return our country to greatness and unite people focusing on key messages.”
************
There are people with the right stuff (e.g., Cruz, Rubio, Lee and a few others) but we’re still a ways off from reaching critical mass IMO. And the GOPe is retarding the process of restoring the politcal energy and developing the types of candidates needed to drive another Reagan Revolution. But at least things are starting to move in the right direction. There’s a glimmer of hope.

I Don’t to read the article. Does anyone honestly believe that a majority of American voters would vote for a third Bush?

Exit polls in 2012 showed 54% were still blaming Bush, not Obama, for the bad economy.

It didn’t matter whether Bush was running. Obama was running AGAINST Bush anway — and it worked. Obama won, again.

Bush didn’t run those years. Obama won because conservatives were divided.

And a Jeb Bush run would divide conservatives further. No more open borders. No more unnecessary foreign adventures. No more Democrat light social programs. No more Bushes.

Hey boys and girls, today’s lesson is called “how to message a piece of crap into a diamond.”

Bush’s cronies will now start pimping him like a $2 whore on the boardwalk.

STAY OUT OF THE BUSHES!!!!

you bet. “Lean to the left, lean to the right- stand up, sit down, fight fight fight” THAT kind of crowd management speaks of crafty politicos, who regard the citizens as cattle. obamaumao and his pals MUST import more “uniformed” cattle voters to get their end result.

So this will be a battle for the idiots, and the mystical principled independents (who were NOT the deciding vote— it was the conservatives who stayed home AND electronic voter manipulation on a massive scale in select states for the electoral college outcome).

It'd be nice if he actually meant them, but he doesn't.

No more Bushes. Period.

After Daddy Bush and George I think the flaws are genetic. I could not support Jeb.

Amen. Now if he runs as a democrat, that would be more appropriate. We need a constitusional conservative.

It was called 'blame Bush' and it worked, whatever the cause.

When he said his "dad" was disputing the demise of conservatism, you knew he was bullsh*tting you. I think that was the first sentence. His "dad" hated conservatives.
