Police State Raids Family’s Home: “The Fight Has Officially Been Brought To My Front Door”
SHTF Plan ^ | March 20th, 2013 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 03/20/2013 12:01:12 PM PDT by Mozilla

When certified firearms instructor Shawn Moore posted a photo of his 11 year-old son on Facebook the last thing he expected was a SWAT style raid on his home. The picture showed his son, a licensed hunter, holding his new birthday gift, a .22 caliber rifle.

While Moore’s son proudly displaying his semi-automatic personal defense rifle was completely legal, an anonymous tipster contacted New Jersey’s Department of Children and Family Services and declared that the Moore family was neglecting and abusing their child, an unfounded accusation that led to the mobilization of local police who were apparently not at all concerned with the unconstitutionality of their actions which violated numerous protections of the Moore family including their right to bear arms, their right to be secure in their homes, their right to speak freely, and their right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

Of critical importance is that the police who raided the Moore home never even saw the photo.

“It was all hear say. Just a phone call saying someone saw a pic of a child holding a gun,” reports Moore.

Shawn Moore recounted the incident at the Delaware Open Carry forums:

The fight has officially been brought to my front door.

Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and DYFS [Division of Youth and Family Services] are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe.

I’m instantly on my way. I get in contact with [attorney] Evan Nappen on the way. I explain the situation.

I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of them outside. DYFS got a call because of a pic of my son holding a gun.

They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered.

Obviously that didn’t go well because I refused.

I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing.

I didn’t budge.

I was told I was being “unreasonable” and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn’t open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead.

Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the DYFS workers name. She wouldn’t give it. I asked for credentials and she wouldn’t show them. I tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away.

After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing.

People it can happen that fast.

A few weeks ago I was zeroing in my new very nice pellet rifle, birthday gift from my son, in my back yard. The yard is high fenced and I was shooting at targets well imbedded and backed with foam, carpet, and steel sheet in a cooler box. I had checked the city code and with PD the day before to make sure there were no restrictions. My wife comes and tells me PD is at the door. I invited the officers to the backyard to see what I had setup. Some neighbor had reported I was shooting at and killing birds. The police were assured and accepted only target shooting was going on. All turned out with good vibes but I wasn’t told who reported I was killing birds. At least the person making the false report got some satisfaction in that my wife who is more squeamish about such matters won’t allow any more shooting. If I want to pretend I can take a garden scoop and crack it on a brick for the same sound. I have the feeling now that I suspect many people had in Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Russia.

so the police saw his FB, how , why?
Did they get a tip off by a loney liberal?

Then they have no right to go into his house and threaten them and then they told him they will take the kids away?

I see the MSM, the lap dogs have again not really covered this story and I hope the father sues the hell out of the NAZI’s

“A licensed holder” bugs me. I couldn’t live in a place like that.

If you're talking about the sentence "The picture showed his son, a licensed hunter, holding his new birthday gift, a .22 caliber rifle", practically every state has licensing for hunters, usually involving proof of attendance at a hunter safety class and payment of a fee.

I'd like to see the "tipster"s anonymity removed in cases where the tip turns out to be completely bogus

Actually isn't their a law about such kind of matters aleardy? Making false statements, causing public panic, etc.

An almost related friend in Dallas takes care of her mother who is senile. If the daughter gives the mom her social security check, she walks to a drug store when the daughter is not home and puts enough aspirin products in her cart to require the whole check for payment. As a result, the daughter, who is a responsible person, gives her mom money but not the whole check at a time. The mom, again being senile, calls 911 and says her daughter has her in prison and won't give her the SS money, or she goes to a neighbor to have them call social service.

I had similar issues with my mom when she went through her dementia stage. I had her examined by a neurologist, diagnosed with dementia, went to court, and got guardianship.

She would still raise a fuss and demand the police be called, but after a while (it's a small town) they got used to it. I finally had to put her in a nursing home when taking care of her got beyond what we could do and still keep our own sanity.

MyFace is vehicle for stupidity, real or imagined.

Is it really worth posting photos of your kids for anyone to see?

You see this is why I don’t shed a tear when lawless officers like that get killed. If your not going to uphold your oath you deserve no more respect than that of a common criminal for that is all you are.

“I finally had to put her in a nursing home when taking care of her got beyond what we could do and still keep our own sanity.”

Well, I am 80 and sharper than most people of any age. I use my brain constantly studying and researching and writing prepper articles for another website. I'd rather learn than eat and have been that way all my life - I started reading at age 3 and read the World Book Encyclopedia and the big dictionaries that came with those. I thought words were great. So, I have been reading and studying since I was 3.

I meet older people who talk about what they “used to be” as though they are nothing now. I studied to be an EMT when I was in my sixties and made the highest on the state test of anyone in that class and I was way older than they were.

Getting old in age does not mean your brain has to go away. Using it keeps it sharp. I also play computer games that require fast decisions.

If I ever have to go to a nursing home it will be because my joints gave out, something like that. And, if the nursing home didn't have Wifi so I could use my computer, I wouldn't go.

The answer is to abolish the doctrine of Parens Patriae. But potential victims wouldn’t listen during the ‘80s, ‘90s or more recently. Why would they listen now? They’d rather believe that they’re somehow inherently superior to others whose families were busted, and their lives, ruined, but millions of the families of such “superior” people have been robbed and scattered since. Most of our fellow Americans are fascists and don’t realize it (or have much connection to many realities)—much like fascists of other nations past.

Let the default process take care of it. Take a seat. Have fun. Enjoy the slide.

I probably misread it but the tone of the article is still like that. They had to make sure all the guns were registered.

"I was told I was being “unreasonable...”

Unreasonable will soon be re-termed as "mentally unstable", if the libs have their way.

Heritage Defense: http://www.heritagedefense.org Join ... if you can.

Guess I can't; their FAQ page says "Heritage Defense membership is currently limited to home educating families." Did that, but now I don't have anyone under 18 to teach.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “If you are over 13 years old Facebook is not for you.” flame away

I disagree completely! Facebook is not even for those under 13. There was just a case in Va. where a young girl went off to meet her "boyfriend" she met on facebook. She was 15 and he was 21. He told her he was 16. the Police said that he had ties to a sex ring.

Your right I did not think about that. But I still refuse to use facebook, friends I call them if I want to know what they are doing. If they can’t call on occasion to talk are they really friends. Family is family and I talk to them as I need or want. Nobodies day to day life is so important that everybody needs to read about it. My life is my life and I don’t want anyone to know what I do unless I think they are worthy of my friendship.
