Vice President Joe Biden says requiring Americans to register guns would "cross a cultural line" that would incite conservatives and conspiracy theorists.

"The idea that you register your guns – it may make logical sense to say this, but there isn’t a constitutional right to own an automobile. There is a Second Amendment Constitutional right to own a weapon: the right to have and bear arms," he said in an interview with NPR's "All Things Considered."

"When you go to registration, it raises all the black-helicopter-crowd notion that what this is all about is identifying who has a gun so that one day the government can get up and go to the house and arrest everyone who has a gun, and they’ll cite Nazi Germany and all that."

Biden said he and President Obama haven't given up on passing an assault weapons ban, even though it has been removed from a Senate bill and appears dead at the moment.

the constitution denys the federal government (and the states by incorporation of the bill of rights) the power to infringe on a lawful citizen’s right to responsible self-defense. arms are required for self-defense. self-defense, includes your property (life’s work), your family, your home and your state.

since the enumerated powers of the federal government do not include control over or a list of what a lawful citizen can or cannot buy (yes disasterously that has changed for the moment with robert’s version of obamacare), i believe that right to own an automobile *is* protected by the contitution by ommission as a federal power.

Count me as a part of the black helicopter crowd. Last week as I was leaving work in downtown Harrisburg, a black, Blackhawk helicopter with no markings flew down the street at about 6 stories high. The building that I was leaving was 5 stories. It was clear as day.

Does anyone know what government entity, military or otherwise fly unmarked Blackhawks?

Inasmuch as there is voluminous historical records of EXACTLY this being done to every citizenry under or prior to a dictatorship.

The Founding Fathers knew this... and a hell of a lot more. Human nature has not changed, and the beauty of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights is that it encompasses human nature, and natural laws, our unalienable (that is not removable or detachable) rights.
