White and Wrong in Philly (Selwyn Duke)
American Thinker ^ | March 21, 2013 | Selwyn Duke

When your article inspires a big-city mayor to refer your case to a "human-relations commission," you know you've hit a nerve. And when that article is the recent "Being White in Philly" piece by liberal Robert Huber, you know it doesn't take much truth to hit that nerve.

That's the scary part. Huber's article contains mostly tepid examples of whites' negative experiences with blacks and primarily black neighborhoods, such as a Philadelphia resident whose grill was stolen from her backyard but "blames herself" for not fencing it in. Its tone is basically apologetic, absolving a drug dealer of responsibility because he was just "trying to get by" and describing the US' racial history as "horrible and daunting." Yet this wasn't good enough for Mayor Michael Nutter and his comrades. They still want Huber silenced.

Oh, they won't get what they want...at least not exactly and not yet. But, nonetheless, writes Philly.com, "In a scathing letter, Mayor Nutter last week requested that the Philadelphia Human Relations Commission consider whether the magazine and Huber deserved to be rebuked for the article." Why is this significant? Well, when we hear about Englishmen, Canadians, Australians, Swedes, or other Westerners being imprisoned or fined for criticizing Islam or homosexuality -- yes, this does happen -- guess what the instruments of their oppression are.

Human-relations commissions.

Of course, they're usually called "human-rights" commissions, and the entities that actually judge those charged with "hate speech" are called "tribunals." And they have proliferated in the West. You can bet your state has one, and your county may, too. But, no, you won't be silenced by them -- at least not exactly and not yet. We have that pesky thing called the First Amendment (for now).

But Huber certainly was rebuked. In a Monday panel discussion moderated by the...

Many of whom will go to guns before we surrender and get on the FEMA bus to a reeducation camp.

Could I have your address?

You've won a wonderful vacation and I need to mail your cruise tickets to you immediately.

It won't be as easy as this, next time around.

It's 1932 in Berlin and our name is Goldstein, but this time Goldstein is armed to the hilt and there is no other place to escape to.

Contrary to popular belief you can shout fire in a crowded theater, but you must suffer the consequences if there isn’t one.

In this case there is a fire, but the consequence is an HRC Gestapo action.

The old NJ joke is “Which exit?” (Off I-95).

It actually means which exit off the Garden State Parkway, not I-95. I-95 in New Nersey is also the New Jersey Turnpike, which has only 18 exits in the entire state. The Garden State Parkway has many more exits, and much of the northern NJ population lives very close to the parkway. Hence the "what exit" joke.

As to why more people don't leave (and many have), there are still many jobs, opportunity, and money in and around NYC, though the Marxists are taking more and more of it all the time...

This is a fine example of Communist “Show Trials” in China.

I remember Mao’s Red Guard cadre doing the same thing during the 60’s to people who innocuously stated uncomfortable truths.

They were humiliated and made to apologize.

~Before they were shot.

We haven’t reached the point of killing those who disagree, but I’m sure the left has already voiced that idea as one to ponder.

Blacks need to wake up and get a clue. Whatever their leadership is doing, it ain’t working.

Actually, it's working perfectly, for all the reasons you cited.

Filth-a-delphia:
In a 2002 address at a convention of the NAACP, Street said that "the brothers and sisters are running the city. Oh, yes. The brothers and sisters are running this city. Running it! Don’t you let nobody fool you, we are in charge of the City of Brotherly Love. We are in charge! We are in charge!" This observation attracted some criticism and charges of racial divisiveness.[13] emphasis mine   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Street

Well, they can have it!!

After being rebuked by the "Human Relations Commission" as being racist, then come the demands to have your editorial board and staff be "more diverse".

If you don't cave, then you are racist, and a campaign will start to discourage retail outlets from carrying your publication.

Right, sorry, I knew that.

I’d still leave, job or no job.

Jews were still working at lots of top jobs in Berlin in 1932.

That's the major divide in this nation. The “post-modernists” who consider the Constitution and the BOR to be an impediment to the creation of their progressive socialist utopia

It's the Makers vs. the Takers. And that socialist utopia hokum is a load of BS used to by the Takers at the top, the Globalist Banksters, to sell their tyranny to their minions and to the welfare moocher Takers at the bottom. The Takers then squeeze the Middle-class Makers from above and below.

Ultimately of course, the whole US will come to resemble Detroit; the burbs will be wrecked by Section 8; then the rural communities in proximity to the crap cities; then the rural communities in between the crap cities.

But..........there’s always Canada, or Costa Rica.

If Mayor Nutter doesn’t want to hear their complaints, maybe whites should move out of Philadelphia.

Eggs-zactly.

That article was milk-toast. It was true, but it held back on the raw realities of black racism.

I met a black man at the local shooting range the other day. He self identified himself as a “Republican who escaped from Chicago.” We share many life experiences including black powder shooting.
In another world, we could probably become close friends but in a world where I have to walk on eggshells and be very careful in what I say or do, I am not sure.
Really a quandary.

I´m suprised this thread doesn´t have about 150 comments by now.

For my part: I can state in all honesty that I have thought no harm, spoken no harm, and done no harm to anyone in my whole life on account race, color or national origin.

I am verbally slapped as a racist by a lady in my own church --- a fellow parishioner --- whenever we have even the slightest disgreement about anything, whether it be choir robes, Latin Mass, or Eric Holder.

Do I still talk to her? Not willingly, not any more. So I suppose that makes me a segregationist, too.

I pray for her well-being and redemption.

When I was in line for the Sacrament of Reonciliation last Saturday, I did see her coming out of the confessional, and her face looked serious. So maybe there´s hope --- for all us sinners.

Here's a picture that clearly shows the reaction of the racist whites in the room who failed to celebrate the acquittal of OJ Simpson:
