President Barack Obama withdrew his nomination of Caitlin Halligan to a federal appeals court Friday, handing a victory to Republicans in the Senate who twice blocked his pick for the key judicial post.

Calling the obstruction by Republicans unjustified and unacceptable, Obama said he agreed to Halligan’s request to be pulled from consideration even though she would have served with distinction on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. …

Senate Republicans blocked Halligan’s confirmation for a second time in early March, arguing that Halligan is too liberal and citing her work on lawsuits against gun manufacturers and on behalf of illegal immigrants. …

If this Halligan is “too liberal” for the RINOs, she has to be a Stalinist, looks like.

SEE! The Republicans can defeat Obama if they try. Unfortunately, they rarely ever try.

Imagine if these RINOs were actually conservative instead, what could be achieved.

Odd, I thought there was NO DIFFERENCE between Dems and Republicans?

Good for the GOP on this one.

All that’s left now is Obama getting even... he will find a way.

There had to have been some horse-trading behind this withdrawal. Obama could have hammered her through into the job if he wanted. Whomever could be on Halligan’s heels could be even more liberal, but if a deal was made with the RINOs, they won’t be as vocal about it.

I smell a backdoor deal, here. What I said in the original post was a bit facetious; I cannot imagine Halligan really being further left than people like Kerry, Hagel and Brennan.

Dear Lord, we heartily pray that the Republicans keep giving
that man in the White House the what-for. Amen and Amen.

Let’s not get giddy. Obama has had 179 federal judges confirmed by the Senate with 27 more leftists awaiting confirmation to their cushy lifetime appointments.

I cannot imagine Halligan really being further left than people like Kerry, Hagel and Brennan.

However, Kerry, Hagel and Brennan are until 2016.

Halligan would be forever...

She is. I remember when they first put her name up -- I started reading some of her published opinions .... and literally shaking my head in disbelief. I am convinced that Moochelle is even farther to the left than Barry Junior, and that he lets her make a lot of the judicial picks. That's why both of the Supreme Court picks were minority women, and both of them were farther to the left than Ruth Ginsburg.

MooseChelle and ValJ.
I think ValJ is the brains of the operation and we know how “progressive” she is.

Oh, it was at her request to be withdrawn. Whatever.

This works. Delay the socialist judge's nomination long enough to examine her decisions closely, and "out" her as the radical socialist that she is. Before long she starts getting that "I'm twisting in the wind" feeling ... and she withdraws voluntarily.
