The sadder but truer lesson for adults is after stomping on the paper with the name of a probable icon is:
Why in the world would you follow that instruction blindly?
Does this have any meaning to why tragedies are committed by blindly following idiots in power?
Would teaching adults the meaning of refusal to follow orders be an important concept in a free society?

Those are pretty serious charges. I have to wonder what exactly he did or said to warrant a charge like this. Could just be that the university isn't in sync, the department handling the situation their way and the university admin handling it their way. Either way, it doesn't speak well for the university.
He should hire an attorney and file suit against the University. Then his attorney can "contact any of the students involved in this matter – verbally or electronically – or by any other means.”

The fascists are in control. When the left is in power they show who they really are - totalitarian, brutal, fascist dictators. Under their rule, there is no freedom of thought. Dissent is punished severely.

THis School is the poster boy for anti christian Bigotry.
The student should be reinstated immediately.if not, the school should lose all Govt. Monies and all fed. loan monies.
The “Professor” should be fired sumarily, with no Benes no retirement.
The university, and more to the point, the professor and the director that are punishing him,
should be made to pay for his education at an institution of his choice anywhere in the USA.
And for those who like accurate historic fiction, try "Silence" by Shusaku Endo. It's about the suppression of the Catholic missionaries and Christian-believing Japanese in the 17th century.
This is exactly what the Tokugawa Shogunate did: required people to stomp in figures of Jesus Chris and the Blessed Virgin Mary. If they refused, they were tortured to death. Happened to thousands.
I read it about 30 years ago and still call it to mind from time to time: excellently written litarature, not egregiously graphic or lurid at all, but in the heart, disturbing.
