Soros and the plot to bring down Malaysia

Soros and the plot to bring down Malaysia MONDAY, MARCH 25, 2013 - 18:43 by Ahirudin Attan AT THE 12th general election in March 2008, which was Barisan Nasional’s worst, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud still delivered 29 out of the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak for the ruling coalition.

At the Sarawak state elections two years ago, the chief minister made minced-meat of an overconfident Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Co, winning 55 of the 71 seats and retaining the two-thirds majority.

Clearly, if Pakatan dreams of conquering Putrajaya, it has to first take Sarawak, considered a “fixed deposit’ for Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s BN because of its ability to deliver the seats. In order to overcome Sarawak, they will have to bring down Taib.

BN’s fixed depositer The “secret” short movie Inside Malaysia’s Shadow State produced by Global Witness, a previously obscure UK-based NGO, is seen as such an attempt to bring down Taib. The movie implicates the Sarawak chief minister and his family in alleged multi-million ringgit shady deals.

Despite its insistence that the movie was “apolitical”, many of us are far from convinced. The timing for the circulation of the video itself, at the verge of Malaysia’s 13th general election, makes the political observer laugh at the claim that the movie is aimed at exposing and fighting corrupt practices.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Soros is said to be the financier of Global Witness

I find it insulting that these English chaps think that hearsay is enough to prove that someone is corrupt. Did they think we were going to behave like natives and swallow their words hook, line and sinker like in the good, old, colonial days?

Read the Benchmark’s GW on Taib: Was it really a sting operation? Could it be a well crafted conspiracy against Taib by his own kin who have the coveted chief minister’s seat at sight?

Could it be the Rahman family’s last attempt at the throne?

The Benchmark also thinks that the attack is not purely against Taib per say but is aimed at derailing Taib’s transition plan and sabotaging his chosen successor, whoever that may be.

The good thing now is a police report has been lodged against the short movie. When investigating genthe

movie, I am sure the authorities will follow the money trail. I am curious to find out who is financing Global Witness, really.

I have a gut feeling about this but let’s wait a little for that to surface, shall we?

AND so that Malaysians know what they are up against, the Soros-funded Global Witness is based in Britain, our former colonial masters. Yep, the same people who took every inch of our land, sold our crops and mined our natural resources to enrich folks back home in the old Empire. Even after we had gained Independence, they were reluctant to give us back Guthrie (until we had to rob it back from them in 1981 through the Dawn Raid that involved Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, now Selangor MB) and Carcosa!

Global witness appear to aim their guns perpetually at selected developing countries in Africa, Latin America, West Asia and here in our region.

The NGO seems particularly proud of its role in helping bring down Libya’s Gaddafi in the Arab Spring uprising. Its interests are very transparent, indeed: the oil industries of Libya, Sudan and DR Congo, the forests of Peru, diamonds in Zimbabwe, and Taib Mahmud in Malaysia.

I don’t think they were targetting Singapore, though. Now the Singapore government has reduced the Global Witness’ efforts into just two words: “Simply false”.

YES, anything can happen. In 1999, Lim Kit Siang lost both parliament and state seats he contested in Penang which, less than a decade later, fell to DAP.

The double defeat was an embarrassing personal tsunami that has haunted him. Some people believe that contesting Gelang Patah is about burying those ghosts. To others, Kit Siang is helping realise a former bitter enemy’s ambition to become prime minister of Malaysia.

Is Kit Siang a pawn in Anwar Ibrahim’s intriguing game of chess, or will he emerge as the kingmaker?

Regardless, I’m told that Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek actually has an ace up his sleeve. No, you can rule out a CSL vs LKS; the MCA president has said he is not contesting and he intends to keep his word. Unless the candidate who can beat Kit Siang falls ill or dies suddenly and mysteriously, in which case he/she won’t be table to take part in the polls, then CSL may have to roll up his sleeves and take on the old man in a dream clash-ofthe-titans.

So who is that BN candidate who could make Kit Siang sweat? Does BN even have such a candidate?

Not even 3 rd world countries put up with that creep. In the US, his influence peddling is called philanthropy.

What's the argument, exactly?

Taib has been running Sarawak like his own personal fiefdom for 32 years.

He's a powerful guy.

If some opposition group wants to run an expose on him, he's a big boy and can take care of himself.

The author's arguments seem to be:

(1) It is immoral in the first place to criticize Taib or to attempt to outvote him.

(2) Only Malaysians are allowed to question Taib. Foreigners are forbidden to have an opinion.

(3) The British did bad things in Malaysia when it was a British protectorate. Therefore British people are not allowed to have an opinion about a Malaysian politician.

These aren't even arguments, they're whining.

If you don't like Soros' arguments then refute what he's saying. Soros is worth maybe $20B and he's a foreigner.

So he spent a million or two on a movie.

Taib is a native Malaysian with an enormous support network in Sarawak and nationally, and he himself is worth several billion. He can make his own movie to refute Soros' allegations.

Soros is 82.

The average life expectancy for UK males is 83, and that's with socialized medicine.

It stands to reason that he would live several years longer than the national average, since he has access to the best medical care.

He is not surprisingly long-lived yet.

You’re using verified facts and common sense.
Is that still allowed on FR?

I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again: why is that evil little troll allowed to live?

Remember the half dozen cases where one of Saddam Hussein's henchmen would get hit with a bomb and then walk away, your question is probably right on the mark.

One of the Iraqis who seemed invincible was captured alive. They were carrying him out on a stretcher when he recovered. It's possible we acquired that technology.

Two questions:

Why would someone need permission to live?

On what grounds would you supporting murdering him?

They’re definately using something. For insstance, David Rockefeller is 96 or 97. They are trying to prolong their inevetable time of judgement.

It takes the rottenest SOB that ever walked this earth during WWII to turn in fellow jews to the nazis to die.

I am not jewish, but; I saw seen Dachau in 1957, and; I have seen the original photos of that camp that my father took as the first Signal Corp officer with the Rainbow Division (42nd). Sadly, those photos sit in a younger sister’s house.

Soros is not worth a bullet.

They’re definately using something. For insstance, David Rockefeller is 96 or 97.

His father lived to 86, and his grandfather - who was born in 1839 - lived to age 97.

If he's using something, was his grandfather using it too?

Did his grandfather deny it to his father but bequeath it to him?

How have they kept this "something" secret for a century?

He fought with his girl friend last year...she claimed he hit her over the head with a lamp....lot of energy for senior citizen

As a group...seems odd when you look at others in advanced age acting as world policy manipulators, UN promoters not struggling with health issues of people their age.

I'd love to see some data for these assertions.

she claimed he hit her over the head with a lamp.

Well, if she claimed that she was hit in the head with a lamp, that has got to be proof positive that Soros has access to a secret super drug that magically enables him to live to . . .

. . . the average life expectancy of someone in his peer group.
