Florida governor stokes 'stomp on Jesus' fire

Rick Scott 'deeply disappointed,' demands investigation

Florida’s governor is jumping into the national controversy over a college professor who forced students to stomp on the name of Jesus, and he’s now calling for an official investigation into the matter.

Republican Rick Scott has written a letter to Frank Brogan, chancellor of the state’s university system, saying, “I am deeply disappointed in the recent action of Florida Atlantic University faculty that raises significant questions over students rights and the lessons being taught in our classrooms.”

“As we enter the week memorializing the events of Christ’s passion, this incident gave me great concern over the lessons we are teaching our students,” Scott continued. “The professor’s lesson was offensive, and even intolerant, to Christians and those of all faiths who deserve to be respected as Americans entitled to religious freedom.”

As WND previously reported, the professor who gave the assignment, Deandre Poole, turns out also to be the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party.

Poole ignited outrage across the U.S. for requiring students to write “Jesus” on a piece of paper, then put it on the floor and stomp on it.

But Ryan Rotela, a junior from Coral Springs, Fla., said while some of his classmates complied with the assignment, he refused.

“Anytime you stomp on something it shows that you believe that something has no value. So if you were to stomp on the word Jesus, it says that the word has no value,” he told the local CBS TV affiliate WPEC.

A religious Mormon who attends church every Sunday, Rotela complained to school officials.......

"...anyone asked about the religious affiliation of this moron professor?..."

These imbeciles kneel, bow and scrape, as they are taught to do by their Libocrat "Massahs", at the high altar of Victimhood. They are professional victims looking for a handout because they weren't born White. They blame all White folk for their "birth roulette wheel" landing on "Black."

Nearly all of them. Pathetic.

Jesus has got more love than all the haters got hate.

He will win and the stompers will all bow.

I’m not sure of her title, but his “boss”, the dean(?), is another affirmative action hire/promotion, and has just as bad of a ‘tude as his face shows.

SHE was the one that suspended the student and filed misconduct charges against him.

Yup. Had it been the reverse and the prof wanted the kids to stomp on mooo-ham-ed, they would have already been tuning up the firing squads or sharpening the be-headers blades. Remember, political (in)correctness is a one way street and we’re driving the wrong way. You gotta accept everything the radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbags say but you, you’re dismissed.

Florida governor stokes 'stomp on Jesus' fire

If the Florida Governor was a democrat this is the headline we would see:

"Florida governor quick to defend black professor against racist Christian"

We need to be grateful to the Mormon Student who brought all of this to attention by refusing to “Stomp”. At least he had the courage of his convictions to honor his Saviour.

As I mentioned in a thread yesterday, Democrats surely know that religion in schools has been a hot-button issue for decades; after all, they're the ones who made it that way.

So, for this professor to use the name of Jesus in the lead up to Easter as the symbol for his public college exercise, shows an extreme lack of judgment on his part, as well as political hypocricy.

If he was truly intending to lead a discussion on the personal value we place on symbols, he could have used something more neutral, such as a paper image of the American flag. He could have achieved the same classroom results by having the students stomp on, or burn, the image of the American flag.

Sadly, I don't think his purpose was to teach students to understand why they value certain symbols. He was trying to indoctrinate them into no longer valuing religion.

And some people here will STILL SAY that Mormons are not Christians.

I guess this proves them wrong.

“the professor who gave the assignment, Deandre Poole, turns out also to be the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party.”

Most people don't know this but if anyone wishes to advance into the upper levels of the Democrat Party beyond the low level voter or campaign worker they are first given three tests.

The first, usually disguised as a kind of an exercise is to stomp on the name of Jesus. Those who refuse seldom move up or get any advancement opportunities. Those who enthusiastically stomp on the name of Jesus are then identified as candidates for greater things.

The next test, given to a much smaller group, is to spit on a portion of the Bible that declares Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Those who refuse are left alone. Those who participate enthusiastically are put on the faster track.

The third test, given to only a tiny group of people chosen for leadership positions is to urinate on a blessed Crucifix. While doing so they recite an oath to fight against Christianity. This final test is rare. Those who pass soon move up in the Party.

You can’t tell much from their website, on which their “Statement of Faith” is poorly written and unprofessional.

They come across as Black Southern Baptist (and yes, it’s a For-Blacks-Only establishment).
