CNN would prefer we go back to cannons for Hog Patrol/Control.

The obvious answer is to switch to those painless drone kills implemented by the CIA, then every liberal will be happy.

Round up the hogs for relocation to Mecca, Medina, Qom, Damascus, Gaza, the West Bank and Cairo.

Give some to Ben Gazi too.

Never out of bacon.

CNN admits the wild hogs are a problem but agonizes over the fact that AR-15s are the ideal gun to do the job.

He should've gave the skirt wearing Anderson Cooper the real reason why there is a Second Amendment right. They hate hearing that.

As odd as it sounds, the hunters are losing this fight.

Wild hogs reproduce at a ridiculous rate. “Wild hogs will breed year round, but births peak in spring and fall. Gestation is 114 days, and a sow will give birth to anywhere from 1 to a dozen piglets. She can have 2 litters a year.”

They are overrunning Texas, to the point where after first authorizing hunting from private helicopters, the rules have been relaxed so that almost anyone can hunt wild hogs anywhere, not just their own property.

There are now half hour long videos of helicopter hog shoots, just the “greatest hits”. And they can’t kill them fast enough. It looks like Vietnam War file footage at times.

And they are spreading into Oklahoma.

Oddly enough, the phenomenon is happening elsewhere as well. German hunters killed some half a million wild boars in the first year of open season. The next year, they killed two million, and barely made a dent in their numbers.

Here is Arkansas wild hogs are shot and left to rot. Almost all have been found to be infected with psudorabies.

Anything that makes CNN “agonize” is good with me. These wild hogs are spreading up into Kansas, where they will undoubtedly find employment as Poly-sci profs and newspaper editors.

There has been some very interesting forums of just what is the best tool for eradicating these pests, and also the better calibers. The AR15 is very very good but ultimately the hunters upgrade to a heavier caliber like the .458Socum.

And the AR15 provides the versatility of changing calibers.

I have seen some folks building a remote controlled by video operated quad semiauto 12ga firing station. Thats four Beretta 12 ga guns all operated by video feed, bait is placed and then they wait,

I loved to watch the hog hunter shows, but as usual the producers and the anti gunners managed to make a mess out of it.

Now look at all the recent ammo shortages and the hog problem will even get much much worse, millions of wild hogs consuming everything, they will overwhelm the gun free schools unopposed. The states that have confiscated the guns from the people will have packs of hogs in the cities running wild and spreading diseases to other animals, and then you will have the hungry and homeles victims of Obamacare will try eating these diseased hogs and they will die.

God gave us guns for many a reason, let no false gods take them away.

It turns out that an AR-15 is a good tool for the job, but not by any means the best. For a complete discussion of the issue there is no better source than Feral Hog Control in East Texas", a well written, well illustrated, and highly addictive 150 page blog on the subject.

Well, yeah. AR-10s would be better, although AR-15s in, say, 6.8 SPC would do just fine.

Perhaps they should use a less lethal weapon with a 30-round magazine? :)

My farm about 100 miles NW of Dallas, Texas is overrun with them. Killed 11 last year and have recent trail cam pic with 12 in the view! I use an AR-15 in .223mm or an AR-10 .308. Both are effective.
