Ted Baxter disses “Bible Thumpers.”

Any man who supports gay marriage is either gay or closet gay. If he’s married his wife should ditch him.

Rush isn’t convincing me that he is against homosexual marriage.

What bothers me the most about all this prop 8/SSM fiasco is “the end result”and ultimate outcome of all this. I would hazard to say I’m like most folk-I believe in traditional marriage and have no animous to those who do not. However, this ultimately will not change peoples minds on SSM but what it will do is criminalize dissent on the matter-it will criminalize those who disagree, whose faith dictates a support of traditional marriage. I see people prosecuted, inprisoned and such in the very near future for “not thinking correctly” or being in support of, professing or preaching (as in churches and ministers) traditional marriage. It aint the gay people that bother me-it is the fact that government will now be involved to the detriment of the first amendment.

I think the former “Mrs. Baxter” is aware of this. Ted is still trying to have his most recent ex excommunicated from the RC Church. She remarried a Long Island NY cop and BOR apparently was pretty ugly w/the custody etc.

BOR was married, but his wife left him for a police officer and there was a messy divorce.

I think that are at least two former Mrs. Baxters. The excommunication part had to do w/ex-wife’s affair w/cop but also something about their kids, attending Catholic school, couldn’t have their mom, step dad at school functions. It was pretty ugly, vindictive stuff.

This is beyond just "ignored"; it's sealed away in an obscure warehouse, somewhere.

I would hate to be married to BOR, money or no.

Speaking of which, I read one of his books years ago. He offered tips on saving money, and stated that he “buys no jewelry of any kind.” I think that would be grounds for divorce right there.

"I'm sorry somebody pulled the knob off your radio. "

"Shove your advice and whining till you make Rush's salary"

Thanks to each of you for your brilliant contributions to the discussion.

I've listened to Rush for 23 years, virtually daily. He was and still is my mentor. If he wasn't, I'd put the knob back on my radio this moment.

With all my heart, I want him to always succeed, to remain at the top of his game and to be around forever.

But lately, he's getting like a jabbering old lady beating a subject to death. He's always been cutting, precise, making his points, then moving on to another current topic. Now he's NOT on the cutting edge. It's like he's on idle.

His highly-paid, highly-trained research people should be handing him new and interesting stuff to comment on in his own inimitable fashion. For example, the Fox news network producers have interesting stuff coming on virtually every few minutes all day long. Rush used to do much more interesting and far-ranging stuff. Now he plays sound bite number 10 and sound bite number 14 and sound bite number 21 from two-day old television snatches or clips from somebody's dumb speech......and reacts to it in a predictable fashion.

Not that individually anything is wrong with his material.....it's only that on the whole his material is beginning to give the impression he's getting lazy and repetitive and reactionary, not cutting any new ground at all.

Some guests may help. I'd love to see Rush debate with a Juan Williams or some nutty perfesser on his show.

It's interesting to see that the Rush threads which I have read faithfully over fifteen years have become like today's thread....over an hour into his show and still there was mostly chit-chat about the weather, robins, etc. appearing....why, because there's nothing that interesting on his programs to stimulate and simulate any of the long, interesting threads that were regular over the past many years. Lately, if there's two pages of threads during his daily show, it's a miracle.

Finally, in regard to the "shove it" quote above, I consider it both mentally stimulating and an exercise of freedom of speech to critique and whine about Rush's shows as well as Obama's speeches even though I don't make the salary of either one.

Leni

Julie Talbott may be the reason "why" Rush doesn't say he's against homosexual marriage.

I’ve seen some photos of BOR in real life. Those Fox make up artists really are Michelangos w/a Mac palette.

I don’t get how Beck and/or Dennis Miller have put up w/his ego whilst on their tours.

I hope the most recent ex got a “loofah embarrassment” settlement of some kind.
