NBC News on Dr. Ben Carson: 'Blinded by the White'
Breitbart ^ | 3/29/2013 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/30/2013 6:05:06 AM PDT by Lakeshark

On Sean Hannity's Fox News Channel program Tuesday night, while discussing same-sex marriage, Dr. Ben Carson made the point that if we change the definition of marriage for homosexuals, what's to stop NAMBLA or those into bestiality from demanding the same.

The media, which is always ready to destroy any black man who dares think for himself, uniformly pounced today. In response to the manufactured uproar, the soft-spoken Carson (who was a hero to the left until he came out as a conservative), did the interview rounds on cable Friday, including Andrea Mitchell's show on MSNBC and Wolf Blitzer's on CNN.
**snip**
NBC News obviously wants to destroy the threat of any independent-thinking black man as quickly as possible. So it should come as no surprise that, by the time Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart filled in for MSNBC's Martin Bashir, Carson's apology was treated as far from sufficient. In short, Capehart and his guests, Toure' and Krystal Ball, treated the apology as a lie.

This is all par for the course at NBC News.

Sadly, so is the chryron pictured above -- "Blinded by the White" -- which was used as the clip of Dr. Carson played during the segment.

Further proof that the left can’t stand opposing viewpoints especially from people of color and the willing dupes in the media are only too happy to do the Democratic Party’s dirty work and take out Dr. Carson.

Nor for long... A few weeks and months of relentless and increasingly vile and demeaning commentary by the perverted socialist propagandists posing as the "media", and even Dr. Carson's mother would begin to raise questions about him. If the personal attacks and the attempts to disparage his character don't result in quick results, they POS scum in the media will just make up stories about him until he fades away and is no longer considered an alternative to the Demonic Party "plantation". It happened this last election cycle... remember Herman Cain? And what ever happened to that woman who accused him of all those "repeated sexual advances"?

This is what the left does best. Destroy good people. Their most vicious hate is reserved for “minority” group members who won’t bow down in submission at the great god of liberalism.

I just bought Dr Carson’s book.

Herman Cain wasn’t destroyed by the left. Herman Cain was destroyed by the GOPe. Go back and look at some of the threads from that time and see how the concern trolls just couldn’t let it die.

Agreed. And the audience for the vile treatment is going to unthinkingly suck it up.

“Whoa. I thought Dr. Carson was a good man, from all I heard. I guess he is just a black guy who lives in a mansion and doesn’t know what it is like for many of us blacks out here. Well, screw him, then. He is an Uncle Tom as far as I am concerned.”

And variations of that paragraph will be repeated ad nauseum at family get together, parties, casual conversations and such, until his reputation is so thoroughly destroyed in the black community the vile lie will simply appear to become the truth, as Dr. Carson stays to himself, immediate family and longtime friends.

I imagine that is what it has been like for Dr. Sowell.

I read Dr. Carson’s most recent book, and I like the guy as a business conservative. I don’t agree with him on everything, and I don’t think he is a conservative savior like some, but he is someone I would want on my team. He WILL be vilified and ostracized by the black community.

Until the black community can hold up men like Dr. Carson and Dr. Sowell instead of “Reverend” Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barack Obama, they are going to struggle.

Carson and Sowell want to see them rise up out of their situation, while Jackson, Sharpton andObama want to see them stay in it.

They will get away with it because they know that branding an independent thinking black man an Uncle Tom is practically a death sentence among blacks.

Why is incest wrong?

seriously.

Religion? Morality? Genetics?

Libs have already discounted the first two, and science has taken care of the third. So what legal argument is there? Does government have some interest in limiting these marriages but not others?

And what's so special about the number two? Why two people? Why people?

I like Dr. Carson as a decent man but I don’t think he is the Repub’s answer to their leadership void. He should stay away from vacuous Hannity, O’Reilly types and be himself. Stay non-partison and avoid the political party BS!

Carson is lucky this is happening at the end of his career. If he was just starting out, libs would have laid waste to his career before it even began. No hospital would have accepted him. As it is, historians, which are controlled by libs, are going to treat him very unkindly.

Yup. This is just the beginning. Carson hasn’t seen anything, yet. It’s been over 4 years since Palin was selected for VP, and the assault against her is still going strong. Unrelenting. There will be nothing left of Carson (or his family) by the time libs are finished with him. They will make him one of the most reviled people in American history.

I guess I might misunderstand what you are trying to say.

If the majority here think that Dr. Carson is going to be branded and vilified by the left/media/black community because he dares to take the approach that government isn’t the answer and that supporting business, industry and self-reliance in not just the black community but throughout American society, then, yes.

But your statement sounded like you thought the majority of Freepers want blacks to stay on a “liberal plantation” where they are hand-fed by the government who looks the other way at all the issues in that community, as long as they get the vote out for liberals. That is what the “Just Us” brothers want...

And I don’t think most Freepers think that way.

Right. We cannot underestimate the corrosiveness of that approach. That is why “shunning” is considered so terrible by some groups that foster a sense of belonging in it, as I am sure some parts of the black community do.

Hell...four years? Look what they have been doing with Joseph McCarthy for 60+ years, and he has been dead nearly that long.

It is a tenet of the left that they take from the communists...to make people “unpersons”.

Care to count how many fine “Christians” you can find on this thread?

Of course the left will try to vilify Carson and most conservatives will happily make it clear that blacks belong on the plantation and tell them to stay there.

I don't think that is the point that I, and some others were making...it has nothing to do with being Christian.

Looking at that thread you pointed me to, those same people complaining in it overwhelmingly voted for Obama, and would likely vote for him again if he ran for a third term, and would likely do it solely on the basis of their skin pigmentation.

And the truth is, there is a large segment of the black community that would do just that.

The posts I read are, in my opinion, directed largely towards people who full well would fit the description I just gave above.

It is a a fact that a large proportion of people (both black and white) voted for Obama on the sole basis of his color. The last part of the linked article says: "...Meantime, it is becoming increasingly self-evident that black leaders are getting fed up with the economic results of Obama's presidency. For the first time, they have begun to question and to criticize some of the economic policies that he still defends but that they now know aren't working..." If you look at the people in that article, every single one of them, without fail would vote for him AGAIN knowing FULL well how badly those policies have failed.

But that has no bearing whatsoever on the point that I made, and is, by and large, the point of this particular thread: If you are a person of color and speak out against the liberal policies espoused by the Democratic Party in general and the Obama Administration in particular, you WILL be viewed as a traitor to your race. No ifs, ands or buts about it. That is 100% verifiable fact.

My point is, in the context of this current thread, your post didn't seem to me to have any bearing. I simply thought your post was a non-sequitor.

I cannot control what other people think and say. I don’t know anything about Stormfront or why they are happy Free Republic is “waking up”, whatever that denotes.

I saw a poster the other day who was praising Bradley Manning, saying he wished that there were thousands more like him in the military. This was someone who has been on FR longer than I have.

I was appalled, but...he didn’t speak for me. He didn’t speak for a lot of us. But I let him know what I thought, and that is as far as I can go.

Someone may come up to me someday and say “You frequent Free Republic? I saw someone say “insert something that appears racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever” and I was shocked! Why are you posting there?”

My response might be “Well, I was at a party and someone said “insert something that appears racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever” but I don’t know that person. I don’t condone it. And I am not going to stop breathing the air in a room because someone else said something that I think is wrong, reprehensible or whatever. If I went to that party BECAUSE that was what people were expected to say, well, that would be different.”

The fact that you are offended by some of this and speaking out, or I am, is proof positive of that. And that is why I still come to Free Republic and pay my dues.

Being a conservative isn't being white, or posting on Free Republic, or any number of other things. Being conservative means the following to me (and to many others like me):

1.) Personal responsibility is a necessity of citizenship

2.) Government has its purposes, but should be minimized

3.) The military is an honorable, and vital profession

4.) National Defense is not just a campaign issue

5.) Peace in and of itself is not victory, the end all, or the be all

6.) Not everyone is equal in capability, both physically and intellectually

7.) Not everyone is going to make the same amout of money, or deserves to

8.) The Judiciary is meant to interpret law, not make it.

9.) Discrimination does not become something else because you call it something else.

10.) Words have meaning, and cannot be endlessly twisted to suit your needs.

11.) Morality may not be completely absolute, but it is closer to being absolute than relative.
If someone believes these things, then they can stand by my side and be called a conservative, regardless of their race, gender, color or creed. You certainly don't have to believe those things to inhabit the same space with other people.
