Author Sponsors Article V Constitutional Conference - Bypassing Washington
self ^ | March 30, 2013 | Bob Ireland

Loren J. Ems, author of "Sword of Liberty" has organized an Article V Constitutional conference at the University of Central Florida. The event, to be held the weekend of April 26-27, has enlisted a number of 'experts' to participate.

Such an 'Article V' convention can be held by various states, bypassing Washington altogether. This current effort would be a beginning.

Citizens are encouraged to participate, and can enroll at the conference web site. Any FReeper including those from Florida are welcome to participate in the weekend meetings.

Attendance is FREE

It's going to be tedious work, and I'm not sure how to format the indentations that the Commission used for the long quotes from the Framers and Case Law. I'll figure it out and post it to the Chat section.

This link will take you to the page where Natelson's report may be downloaded in PDF format. That's how I have it on my hard drive. It's 90% correct, and that's close enough for now.

An article V convention would also allow the states to abolish the federal government, but we would need three-quarters of states to approve it.

At present, Republicans control 25 states and rats control 11.

It’s a start, what we got going for us now is going down the dumper day by day, faster and faster and there ain’t nothing to stop it in Washington.

If Texas and Florida would join forces in this it would be a great start. This is where the Tea Party needs to go.

***The founders would’ve been shooting by now***

I told my son some time ago: in many ways, King George didn't treat us this badly! Good grief! The Boston Tea Party was over a 1% tax! Who wouldn't cheer a 1% tax today!!!

I heard talk of this regarding a balanced budget amendment at Cpac and it is intriguing. The key however will be doing this while we still retain control of most of the State ledglsators and governorship.

“That can only be achieved by removing the present occupants of the White House.”

And, secondarily, trying any who were involved with them for the multiplicity of constitutional violations that they’ve made. I finally understand why when a new dictator takes over in some “banana republic,” that the first order of business it to “get rid of” the former leadership and it’s supporters. Somehow, when this country returns to it’s senses, some serious “housecleaning” must be one of the primary orders of business, starting with the “judiciary.” Because if we overlook that step, they will be back.

***If Texas and Florida would join forces***

I didn't get a chance to talk to Ems at the meeting we attended where he made this presentation. I presume he sees this as a start since it would take 25 states [?] to pass anything.

Of course, if Texas, Florida - all the Gulf states - plus Georgia, Arizona, Alaska, the Carolinas and ??? seceded from the Union and formed a Constitutional Republic [like one we already know], within a few years it would be the number one force in the world! :-)

If the blockquote tag doesn't cut it, take a look over here.

When you're done and everything is up and running, could you give me a ping?

Yup. And we have five or six traitors who refuse to uphold the US Constitution sitting on the Supreme Court. Including the Chief Justice of the United States.

***talk of this regarding a balanced budget amendment at Cpac***

This is one good reason why we need citizens to participate in these things. A 'Balanced Budget Amendment' sounds great until one remembers that it must stop the Democraps from spending trillions more while raising taxes to pay for it.

The Democraps have said for years that they have a plan to save Social Security - and Medicare. Has anyone heard what that plan is? 'NO! What it is is: when they go broke the Democraps will wail and cry that we can't let old people starve and die: we MUST raise taxes to meet the crisis.

Here is an economic lesson that you don't need a PhD to learn: If the U.S. economy grows at about 3-5% a year [in the good old days!] and the U.S. Government grows at 8% a year ['base-line budgeting'] how long will it be before the U.S. Government is the whole economy?!!

Ask Karl Marx or Pappa Joe Stalin!!!

We need to wrest control of our country from the carpetbaggers...

An interesting noun you chose. The word stays front-of-mind for a lot of us in South Carolina. They'll never allow this State to amount to a hill of beans again. Keep us informed how it goes where you are. We're not giving up in S.C. in spite of the long odds.

***five or six traitors who refuse to uphold the US Constitution sitting on the Supreme Court***

We have lost the Supreme Court... That became apparent when Roberts re-wrote the Ob@ma Care bill as a tax - something the SCOTUS is NOT authorized to do! We used to say, 'Well, the SCOTUS will overturn that horrible law.'

Now we say, 'At least the House of Representatives will not pass that horrible law.'

We are fighting a rear-action skirmish with 'LOSER' chasing us like a bumper sticker. It will require a really dedicated effort to overturn all this treason! Individual states reasserting their sovereignty is a good start!

Solving a problem like that takes math that most of our population does not know, and even fewer still would bother to do.

We must not forget that we are looking at a political problem not merely a physical one. Addressing the physical problem before it address us is not possible before we address the political problem.
