Happy Easter: Google Celebrates Cesar Chavez's Birth
Breitbart ^ | 3/31/2013 | Ben Shapiro

March 31 marks the birthday of National Farm Workers Association (later United Farm Workers) co-founder Cesar Chavez. Chavez, who was trained by Saul Alinsky in the tactics of community organizing, has become a cult figure in California due to his organization of agricultural workers. March 31 also happens to be another important date this year: Easter. So, naturally, Google’s current logo features a graphic of Chavez’s face, rather than anything having to do with Easter.

Political or not, Google has been known to do very strange “doodles” all the time. Google maintains a list of doodles done over the years and many of them makes me scratch my head for various reasons.

I other words Google stock holders and the board of directors don’t give a damn that some might be offended.

Don’t give a damn since they are worth more than a quarter trillion dollars and all the complaining on internet forums will have not negative impact of the stock price.

Anyone know how to change search engine in Opera v12?

Go to the search box in the upper right corner > click on the icon and you'll get a drop down menu > choose "Manage Search Engines" > Click on Bing and then Edit > in the pop up box click on the Details tab > check the box "Use as default seach engine" and/or "Use as Speed Dial search engine" Don't enter a search query.

Sometimes it will try to revert back to Google as your default search. To fix that: Go to "Manage Search Engines > click on Google > Delete > Problem solved!

His birthday has been a holiday in California for a long time. I’m surprised google isn’t celebrating Hugo Chavez.

Leftists being leftists. They’ve probably been giddy for months knowing Chavez’s birthday falls on Easter this year, giving them the opportunity for this prank.

It’s a real shame that the left owns the main portal to the Web. It’s like China owning the Panama canal.

Unfortunately bing’s search results aren’t as good as Google’s. In my work as an engineer I find that Google gives the best results on technical stuff. Somehow it just finds the relevant pages better. Until someone steps up and beats Google’s algorithm, we’re pretty much stuck having to put up with them.

I can tell that you don’t understand what Catholics believe.
I would encourage you to seek out and investigate the truth on these subjects.

Most of what you have given me is riddled with errors stemming from misconceptions circling the internet.

Here is one example. Google searching the connection for Ishtar = Easter will get crackpot theories linking the specific celebration which Catholics celebrate and a pagan festival are specious.

Specifically, because the name Easter is a much later label adapted to refer to commemorative date which started very early in Christianity.

The celebration itself is an important spiritual practice to set aside specific days to remember annually. There is nothing wrong in this practice. Think of marriage anniversaries, no where is it implied that a couple is not married on every other day of the year. In a tangible way having a yearly reminder helps us to remember the fact of the resurrection every day of the year.

I strongly suggest you understand what you are objecting to before you raise erroneous objections. You were wrong in your accusations.

What would Chavez say about Google's tax evasion?

As long as they donate to Democrats, and promote statism, he would have cheered them on.

Our Pascha (Easter) is on May 5, but I’m still miffed by how Google decided to “honor” Western Easter!!!!

For many reasons, I’m stuck with Google. Also for many reasons, I realize that Google is not our friend.

Meanwhile, here’s a taste of how we Orthodox Christians celebrated this Lord’s Day:
