Student Who Claimed UCSC Rape Hired Man to Beat Her in Return for Sex, D.A. Says

Morgan Triplett, 20, from UC Santa Barbara took out two ads on Craigslist: one asking someone to shoot her in the shoulder; the other asking to be beaten in exchange for sex.

The student who claimed to have been raped on the UC Santa Cruz campus reportedly had a man beat her and then have sex with her shortly before calling police and saying she was raped, the Santa Cruz District Attorney's office alleged Friday.

Morgan Triplett, 20, pleaded not guilty to all charges during a court appearance Friday.

Triplett was on the UCSC campus Feb. 16 and 17 for a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender conference, said Assistant District Attorney Johanna Schonfield, in an interview outside the courtroom Friday morning. She is a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Triplett took out two ads on Craigslist, one asking for someone to shoot her in the shoulder and the other asking to be beaten in return for sex. "No charges would be filed," the ads said, according to Schonfield.

UCSC police found the ads during an intensive investigation that started President's Day weekend, when the rape report terrified the campus. Schoenfeld has asked for reimbursement of the police costs as part of the sentence, if Triplett is convicted.

"She was suicidal and she wanted something to bring her back to reality," Schonfield said was the reason Triplett posted the ad asking to be shot.

"The second ad, which ultimately was the one responded to, was seeking someone with a strong hand to inflict punches, bruises and kicks and compensation was to be provided with sex."

A man answered the ad, beat Triplett, and had sex with her on campus Feb. 17, Schoenfeld said. The man, who she wouldn't name, is cooperating with investigators. He isn't from Santa Cruz, she said.

"Several people responded to the ad," said Schonfield.

Triplett then called 911 and said she was attacked, beaten and raped on a campus trail and gave police a description of the alleged attacker for a sketch. Ten days later, police said the rape claim was fake.

Triplett appeared in Santa Cruz County Court with her father, who asked that the court not allow photographs of her. "There's been enough damage already," he said.

Judge John Gallagher, however, allowed pictures after Schoenfeld argued that the public had a right to know about this case in light of the terror it caused on the UCSC campus.

Triplett's father, Richard Triplett, spoke with a Register-Pajaronian newspaper reporter outside of the courthouse. He disputed how the case was characterized. Read about it here.

If convicted of the misdemeanor of filing a false police report, Triplett could get six months in county jail and pay restitution to police for the dozens of hours spent investigating the crime.

Schoenfeld asked that the student be allowed her freedom while waiting for a May 23 court date because Triplett is undergoing psychological treatment for depression. Judge Gallagher ordered her to stay off the Internet except for school work because, he said, her online activities were a major part of the case.

District Attorney Bob Lee sat in the courtroom during the hearing.

The latest in the string of accusations of rape, racism, etc. actually perpetrated by the supposed "victim."

This young lady went a good deal farther than most and also needs to take lessons in covering her tracks.

“She was suicidal and she wanted something to bring her back to reality,”

Not a very good explanation, IMO.

Seems there are more fake rapes, allegations of racism, etc making the news than there are real ones these days.

Did the sketch look like the guy she paid? If so, he avoided the big one albeit he is a loon too. I think a fair sentense would be six months in Soladad for her to get back into reality.

If she had just asked someone to beat her up and then have sex with her she probably would have found someone and would have gotten away with the phony rape charge. It was only posting the ad on the internet that caused the police to find out what really happened.

The violence against women activists were very quick to capitalize on this. I wonder if they were not involved in the planning of the phony rape and talking the deluded woman into doing it.

This reminds me of the perpetrator of false hate crimes, "professor" Kerri Dunn. Rather than being treated for their mental disorder, libs seem to move on to celebrity status within their culture.

I would want the payment first. But that is me. I imagine the type who would respond to this add would want to administer the beating first. Yuck!

And let me guess, the "attacker" was making derogatory remarks about her sexuality while he attacked her.

Was she looking for an “excuse” to drop out of school because she couldn’t hack it?

DA: Student who reported fake UC Santa Cruz rape will be charged
According to her Facebook page, Triplett is majoring in sociology at UC Santa Barbara, works as an HIV test counselor at Pacific Pride Foundation, and is a member of UCSB's Queer Student Union. She is originally from Reno, Nevada.
Hmm.

Every day I come to the realization that pound for pound, the USA has more psychos than any other culture on the planet. Seriously, do “crimes” like this happen in other countries too? Are there as many messed up fags and lesbos elsewhere also? If so, they seem to keep it pretty quiet. Layer on the race pimps, the illegals immigrants and their supporters, and we must have a per capita ratio of normal to insane or looney nearing one to one, maybe more so looking at the results of the last election.

I’ve been asked to give a girl a spanking before sex, but no one has asked me to shoot her yet.

These people should get felony charges, large fines, and long jail times.

These people are the terrorists. They are trying to freak people out and demonize groups of people (men usually) BY FABRICATING FALSE EVENTS, then LYING TO POLICE, LYING UNDER OATH, playing the entire justice systme, and DESTROY the reputations of specific people or whole classes of people. And once they’re slandered and character shot to hell, how do they get it back? How is their lives made whole? It’s hard to get records cleared of false charges, or after activist groups seize on a false incident and demand laws and actions and rules that demonize people over a CONTRIVED AND FALSE incident.

It is utterly despicable, I do not care what the reasons are. It’s immaterial. Severe punishment is required or this crap is going to ever have a chance at stopping it. Throw the book at them, make the laws for doing this crap as severe as the penalties for those that commit these very acts. Make them at least (AT LEAST) as punished because it’s a conspiracy, deliberate conspiracy as well as destroying a group or person. This is meant to strike fear in people, screw with the courts and make the justice system their plaything, garner them sympathy, demonize a person, persons or whole class of people action ought to be taken against in some form, ALL ON A DELIBERATE FALSE SCHEME OF LIES. And HATE.

Personally I’d make ecamples of them and just lock em up as long as they were breathing. These people are evil, evil people bent on destroying others and enacting laws and changes based on their own stinking lies. They are as cold blooded as any murderer to do this to others, they care nothing about other people and what they will go through based on their deliberate lies, and they are wicked liars. They care nothing about real justice. They care nothing about lying under oath, lying to officers, lying to a judge in their own court. It is evil and wicked and until they are dealt with harshly and swiftly and severely, what’s the real incentive for people not to keep doing it? I mean people are so willing to believe a sympathetic victim.

It’s just incredibly sick and evil. INTENT. JUDGE THE DAMN INTENT. They’re PLAYING EVERYONE for suckers.

“Judge Gallagher ordered her to stay off the Internet except for school work because, he said, her online activities were a major part of the case.”

I’m curious how much of the obsessive behavior (and even stated positions) found on the internet, is borderline mental illness activity?

a fake rape is a good way for a queer woman to get sex from a male and remain credible to her wacko queer friends
