Barnicle Bemused: Why Do Top College Grads Choose Tech & Finance Jobs Over Teaching?

A question with a more obvious answer might yet be asked on national TV this morning, but someone's going to have to try very hard . . . On today's Morning Joe, during a segment on the Atlanta school-test scandal, Mike Barnicle actually wondered out loud why more top college grads take jobs with high-tech firms like Google, or in the financial-services sector, instead of teaching.
Barnicle had earlier declared that standardized tests don't teach kids how to think. Might Mike have taken one such test too many in his day? When Willie Geist gently pointed out the obvious to Mikethe difference in payBarnicle blubbered that he understood such was a given. So why ask?

Teaching at a real school - e.g., one in which liberals and their toad sucking unions are banned and guns are not, would be a pleasure.
Sorry, but as silly as that sounds, it’d have a much higher chance of producing good students than the current crop of ...”schools”.

Put out to pasture time for Barnicle? That time came a decade and a half ago. The plagiarist is just flat-out awful.

Uh, because teachers no longer teach. They have been made babysitters with no power to discipline the worst in their classes.

Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach become journalists.

Hey Mikey.....why don’t YOU teach? You could teach Plagarism 101.

Barnicle is simply not that stupid. He gladly collects a check from MSNBC faithfully mouthing the left wing mantra expected to flow from that vile sewer. Meanwhile he “chooses” good private schools for his own kids.

We are witnessing the slow collapse of the public K-12 system daily. Just about any parent(s) who can, take their kids out of it. Of course a generation may be educationally lost as a result but I don't see any way round that, what with the NEA and the AFT.

Why spend all that time in school only to get crapped on by students and parents and government and administrators?

Sadly, that is true. I recall seeing an item on CNN (please forgive me my sin) after BHO’s latest State of the Union in which a gentleman discussed a Dept. of Education study that found the positive affects of pre-K were gone by the time a student entered the third grade. This was followed by a woman in Atlanta stating that she need this important childcare, referring to pre-K.

Why didn’t THAT self-important idiot go into teaching?
