Democrat behind mandatory insurance for gun owners bill claims she’s getting threats

The Democratic congresswoman behind a new bill that would require gun owners to get liability insurance or face a fine of up to $10,000 says she’s now receiving death threats.

New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney said she has been receiving threats since The Daily Caller reported Tuesday about her “Firearm Risk Protection Act,” which would require gun buyers nationwide to obtain “a qualified liability insurance policy” before they are able to legally purchase a firearm.

“They said they were going to kill me,” Maloney said of the threats, according to the New York Daily News. The liberal Democrat, the paper reported, received three calls within about an hour on Tuesday night.

She says she was so shaken up by the calls that she skipped an awards dinner after reflecting on what happened to former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was nearly killed in a 2011 shooting.

“I couldn’t go. Who knows what could happen?” Maloney told the Daily News. “I think any member of Congress would be scared after what happened to my good friend Gabby Giffords.”

Not sure if they’ve ordered up any .338 Lapua rounds. I did read dhs has a bid out for just about every other caliber under the sun so they may have some .338 on the list.

Sounds like she’s the one who needs insurance.

Getting threats rarely has stopped tyrants. The historical evidence proves empty threats are useless. Time for the next step to stop these poplitical pigs from enslaving citizens.

What? People are upset at her because this commie is trying to make honest citizens criminals and pay fines of $10,000 just for exercising their Constitutional rights, which they have exercised freely all their lives?

Who would ever have imagined law abiding people would have gotten upset at her brazen attempts to destroy their rights and their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness?

Members of Congress should live in a permanent state of fear for their lives.
Amen ...

As long as we’re imposing mandatory insurance costs on law-abiding citizens for exercising their constitutional rights -

I’d like politicians to be forced to purchase insurance to cover the costs of the massive damage that their policies and the laws and regulations they impose do to the rest of us.

I’d also like big media companies, movie studios and TV production houses to be forced to purchase insurance to cover the damage that their products do in poisoning the minds of our children and degrading everybody’s life with the trash they sell, much of which inspires violent fantasies in disturbed people who act them out in episodes of mass murder.

I’d like to force colleges to buy insurance to reimburse their graduates for charging them thousands of dollars in tuition for worthless degrees in “disciplines” like gay and gender studies and chicano studies, etc.

I’d like to force lawyers to buy malpractice insurance to cover the cost of the crimes committed by the criminals they use legal technicalities to help evade punishment and unleash back on the community.

I’d like to force the ACLU to buy insurance to cover the damage wreaked on society by the lunatics and degenerates they go to such lengths to keep at liberty so they can prey on the rest of us.

Insurance? There’s not enough insurance in the world to pay the rest of us back for what liberalism has wrought.

And how about idiot judges who grant probation again and again. And Parole Boards who release perverts and violent offenders back into society. And politicians that require this.

I don’t wish ill will on anyone, but one of these days, a family member of a judge will be raped or murdered by the very scum-wad that judge released back into society.

How’s THAT for ironic justice?

Governments should fear an armed citizenry! That is what keeps them from becoming tyrants. This particlur rat has obviously been far too comfortable for far too long.

Screw the members of Congress as We The People have seen what happens to citizens like at Ruby Ridge and Waco.

I’ll see her Giffords and raise her a Waco.

The sole purpose of the 2nd is to protect us from the likes of this government moron.

She’s using a common feminist/progressive tactic. Even many who claim to be conservative now are steeped in victimology.
