In the 1980s, when now-Secretary of State John Kerry was a Democratic U.S. senator from Massachusetts, he criticized the Reagan administrations plan for a missile defense systemknown as the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI)calling it a cancer on our nations defense.
One year earlier in June 1985, AP reported that Kerry was advocating the same position of limiting funding to SDI, calling it, a dream based on an illusion.
We must also recognize that we could never test a Star Wars system under realistic conditions until the moment of an all-out nuclear attack, Kerry said.

Yes, because shooting down nuclear tipped ICBM’s before they reach LA, NY, DC are cancers.
More like the cure.
Well Senate Republicans (RINOs) confirmed him with few complaints so this is too late,
Kerry-a Communist with 57 flavors
He was a stinking traitor long before that.
Remember many Repubs voted for his confirmation as Sec. of State.
There was nothing in missile defense that simpleton Kerry could understand.
Really...all of it is way above him in every imaginable way.
He is a worthless dolt.
And perfect as an Obamadork minion.
Kerry, always on the wrong side of America, just the mook we need at Sec of State! Oh, and did you know he served in Vietnam? Not for us but he served (a heaping pile of CARP!)
Kerry has always been, and will always be, a complete and utter blockhead.
He also is pimp who lives off rich females. Did I forget to say he is an insufferable boor and nincompoop?
What does it say when a man can be completely wrong his entire career and still rise to the top?
I fear for our nation.
Kerry is a cancer on the United States!
We must also recognize that we could never test a Star Wars system under realistic conditions until the moment of an all-out nuclear attack, Kerry said.Yes . . . and so must any potential attacker. If you were considering sneaking up and shooting someone, would your decision be affected if you had just dropped your gun in the water for a few seconds? Or would you not say, I need to wait until I have fresh ammunition I can count on?
An SDI system which failed to deter an attack might, or might not, defend against every attacking missile - and the results of both failures sequentially, not merely the second one would be catastrophic. So having talked down the likely effectiveness of one of our weapons in the past does us no favors right now.
Yes, and Reagan was such a ‘dunderhead’ for proposing it. And these Kerry types have fought it every step of the way. Sadly, if it weren’t for them, the tech would be far more advanced than it is today, although what we have is pretty darn good. At least enough to hopefully limit the damage and tamp down the threats a cuckoo clock like Un can do.
Did you forget that John Kerry served in Vietnam? He knows most everything there is to be a running mate to Hillary or Moochelle in 2016.
John Kerry is a skid mark on the underwear of society. He’s been wrong about everything since 1960. It’s a good thing we have such a moronic jackass in such an important position.
