If you were considering sneaking up and shooting someone, would your decision be affected if you had just dropped your gun in the water for a few seconds? Or would you not say, “I need to wait until I have fresh ammunition I can count on?”An SDI system which failed to deter an attack might, or might not, defend against every attacking missile - and the results of both failures sequentially, not merely the second one would be catastrophic. So having talked down the likely effectiveness of one of our weapons in the past does us no favors right now.
Yes, and Reagan was such a ‘dunderhead’ for proposing it. And these Kerry types have fought it every step of the way. Sadly, if it weren’t for them, the tech would be far more advanced than it is today, although what we have is pretty darn good. At least enough to hopefully limit the damage and tamp down the threats a cuckoo clock like Un can do.
Did you forget that John Kerry served in Vietnam? He knows most everything there is to be a running mate to Hillary or Moochelle in 2016.
