A North Korean Nuclear Pearl Harbor?
Family Security Matters ^ | April 5, 2013 | Dr Peter Vincent Pry

Posted on 04/05/2013 8:52:26 PM PDT by Dave346

At this dangerous juncture, it may be useful to remember Pearl Harbor and some other lessons from history.

After all, there is some compelling evidence that North Korea just might be able to deliver on its threat to make a catastrophic nuclear attack on the United States: North Korea has conducted three successful nuclear tests, and has weaponized its nuclear devices into warheads that are deployed on its Nodong medium-range missiles. In December, North Korea successfully orbited a satellite weighing 220 pounds--so they could deliver against the United States, or against any nation on Earth, a small nuclear warhead. A nuclear weapon designed specially to generate a powerful electromagnetic pulse (EMP)--a single such "Super-EMP" warhead would be able to collapse the U.S. electric grid and other critical infrastructures, inflicting catastrophic consequences on the entire nation--would probably be deliverable by North Korea's so-called "Space Launch Vehicle" over the United States. North Korea orbited its satellite on a trajectory and at an altitude ideal for making an EMP attack on the U.S.. The Congressional EMP Commission warned in 2008 that North Korea was developing Super-EMP warheads. South Korean military intelligence has reportedly warned their government repeatedly that North Korea is developing Super-EMP warheads with Russian help. In 2011, a military commentator with the People's Republic of China stated that North Korea has Super-EMP warheads. Data from North Korea's nuclear tests are consistent with a Super-EMP warhead.

Moreover, North Korea claims it can destroy the U.S. with a missile strike. Recent TV footage of North Korea's military headquarters showed a map in the background allegedly depicting their plans for nuclear missile strikes against the United States. South Korean military intelligence reportedly observed that North Korea's so-called Space Launch Vehicle is included among the general mobilization of the North's nuclear missile forces.

Please stop. They don’t have a bomb and the two they tested....well....they bombed, or fizzled. Whatever.

If there's no threat, then why are we mobilizing our most deadly military assets closer to Lil Kim?

Wouldn't a hearty laugh or snicker from the White House suffice instead?

You can bet all other nations are going to take advantage of this happening....good ones or bad....shifting will occur...... By the same token...nations will be watching the back door too.

If one wants to know what’s happening...see who is traveling where, for whatever purpose....”where” they are and go IS language.

That’s a good possibility! Especially if they don’t load the island down evenly. LOL!

I think there's allot of “false” information going on now...the war of deception plays on Kim's board...and no doubt we're dishing out our own for him to swallow as well.

Honestly, I think Kim and his leadership are more worried about what we'll do and very likely squirming quite a bit...they need to.

Even though backdoor channeling is surely going on for all parties this entails...I think they'll make Kim wait.....let him sweat thru this.

Further, plenty of time has now passed I am sure our guys and or the N.Koreans are already on the ground and sniffing out the terrain over there...be it from the sea or air. They are there.

Seoul is an easy target..that said I'm bringing my fsmily through there at the end of the month.

I view this as a power struggle and I expect their boy leader will find some military types disturbing his sleep very soon..

It's already in orbit. Likely a low earth orbit ~600 miles. A brief deorbit burn wouldn't be easy to spot. At about 220 above the surface, the line of sight is still good coast to coast over CONUS. If we are tracking it and really believe it is an EMP weapon in waiting, we should try to get it before they deorbit.

It is certainly being tracked. What is lacking AFAIK, is any sort of ASAT capability other than the stuff stationed on the coasts. That is missile oriented, not anti-satellite.

I think we scrapped all our good stuff years ago, like the spiffy one launched from a F-15 at high Mach and high altitude. Must not offend the commies, who no doubt kept their toys...........

All this assumes Zero gives a damn, and that he would not welcome the chaos to play into his schemes..........

“Couldn’t we just shoot it down with a missile before it activates?”

An EMP attack detonates at high altitude, but it would still have to reenter the atmosphere to hit the “sweet spot”.

Now, as to whether we could shoot it down, the Russians developed a plan for an EMP attack which they shared with NK. This plan involved attacking from a cross-polar trajectory, in which the warhead would approach us from the Southern hemisphere, and we have no early warning system in that direction. You can’t shoot down what you can’t see.

I read their satellite was tumbling around in orbit shotly after it launched..meaning it doesn’t work.

We could always ask our good friend China, which has an orbital anti-sat weapon, to help us out.

The F15 ASAT performed nicely. Zero doesn't give a damn. He trashed all the Future Combat Systems contracts. They were delivering good technology. My contracts got canceled too. The money lavished on green energy boondoggles would have kept those programs functioning. Instead, they were canceled and the boondoggles are declaring bankruptcy with nothing to show for all the money wasted.

We can be thankful if they were too ignorant to build a satellite correctly. Let's not tell them how to do it right.
