Officials: 'Anti-government' couple may be at sea with kidnapped children

An “anti-government” man alleged to have kidnapped his two young sons from their grandmother’s house may be trying to escape in a sailboat, according to officials.

Police say that Joshua Hakken, 35, apparently broke into his mother-in-law’s Tampa home after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, tied up his mother-in-law and then fled with the boys, Cole, 4, and Chase, 2.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said that Joshua Hakken and his wife Sharyn, 34, may be traveling together in a 25-foot, 1972 Morgan sailboat, NBCMiami.com reported Friday.

The vessel is blue and has the name “salty” with a picture of a paw near the back of the hull on each side. It has a white sail with blue trim and its registration number is FL3717BK, the FDLE added.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office told NBC station WLFA.com that Hakken had recently bought the boat.

Deputies told the station a witness saw the boat going under the Johns Pass bridge a couple of hours after the abduction Wednesday.

"We've said all along, making irrational decisions doesn't always make you unintelligent. We know he's a very intelligent individual. He's an engineer," Hillsborough County Sheriffs spokesperson, Larry McKinnon, told WFLA.com.

I love how the are using the term "anti-government" as if it's bad thing. Every article out there on this couple uses the same term. A previous article says the couple lost custody of their kids after a drug possession charge in LA. Really?

Having done the children type work, I would wager to guess the kids are in hog heaven. kids want to be with their parents, and the parents are together. How long it will last though, is problematic, they will get caught and it will not end well. However, LEO should NOT hurt these parents or they will be creating kids who hate government even more.

Reading the scumbag media for us is akin to the Jews in Germany reading Der Sturmer and the Volkischer Beobachter in the 1930’s.

Mainstream media falsely claims that Hakkens attended ‘anti-government rally’

http://www.examiner.com/article/mainstream-media-falsely-claims-that-hakkens-attended-anti-government-rally

News reports that claim that Joshua and Sharyn Hakken attended an “anti-government rally” are false, Reason reported today.

Throughout Thursday, national and local news reported that an “anti-government” and “drug addicted” family kidnapped their own children. Mike Riggs, a reporter for Reason, wrote that “the Slidell Police Department says the claim that Hakken was arrested at an ‘anti-government rally’ simply isn’t true, and they don’t know where it came from.”

If you’re anti-NBC you’re also anti-government. Only those that oppose the Left and the Democrats, are anti- government. This proves that the Leftists and Democrats are, in fact, are nothing less than tyrants. This also proves, once and for all, that the Constitution now has nothing to do with government, and that adherence to the Constitution is anti-government.

An intelligent engineer on a yacht at sea with his wife and kids:

WOW, NOW THAT IS A REAL KOOK.....!!!

You know what? I’ll bet some day our gov’t gets so crazy that they employ agents to give machine-guns to drug-dealers and MANPADS to proto Al Qaeda guys.

Oh, wait. Eh.....

Exactly...just what in the hell makes these people “anti-government”....are they Christians? Did they homeschool their children? Because he is an engineer?

Where is the record of drug abuse, violence, violations of law prior to their children being taken away?

I looked though the link. All I saw were unchallenged accusations of “anti-governemtn” Hell, I’m that! Is the government gonna take away my daughter or son? Well, good effing luck with that! They’re both over 30, and expensive as hell!

Media today are just too lazy and too effing content on propagating innuendo and lies some government puke asserts without proof.

If there is proof, then frigging document it.

I hope these folks get outside the 12-mile limit and keep going. Then, with any luck, they have a chance.

The 500 pound gorilla in the room that nobody mentioned was *why* the children were taken away from their parents and given to their maternal grandmother in the first place.

It is all due to a small amount of that “killer weed”, and GOVERNMENT RUN STARK-RAVINGLY AMOK!

“Joshua Hakken, an engineer from Tampa, Florida, was arrested in a hotel in Slidell, Louisiana, on June 17, 2012; and charged with “Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.”

“A public information officer for the Slidell Police Department, said that Hakken “was under the influence of narcotics and also had narcotics inside his hotel room and he was speaking kind of out of his mind a little bit.”

“The Department of Children and Family Services was called, the kids were taken, and Hakken was jailed for “maybe a week or so but not very long.”

“The children were placed in temporary foster care in Louisiana.

“Allegedly armed with a firearm, Joshua Hakken tried to ‘abduct’ his children from the foster care facility, and then left when he could not get inside.

“According to multiple media outlets, a judge in Louisiana gave permanent custody of the Hakken children to Sharyn Hakken’s mother in Tampa on Tuesday of this week.”

“Joshua Hakken is facing two counts of kidnapping, two counts of interference in child custody, two counts of child neglect, one count of false imprisonment, burglary with a battery, and grand theft auto. If he was armed when any of that happened, Florida’s 10-20-Life law could come into play.”
