Are some people born to save and others not? Is it nature or is it nurture? Well, a new study on this age-old debate suggests thatat least when it comes to saving for retirementits more nature than nurture. You are either hard wired to save or not.

Rep. Jerry Nadler was on CSpan recently and said that ‘Savings damages the economy’. One man’s savings is another man’s lost job, to paraphrase.
What a maroon! What a gull a bull!
The mindset there is that all money and all property rightfully belongs to the feral government. Jerry wants us all to be indentured slaves to the feral government.

I beg to differ. Until I got married in my 30s I was a “if I have checks I have money” kind of guy. No retirement savings, not much savings in general, etc.
Then my approach to debt and savings changed — I started socking away every penny and quickly grew to HATE debt (the only debt I have now is a 3.5% mortgage on my new home — I paid off my old one — which is damn near free money).
My retirement is almost where it would have been had I started in my 20s (but I had to go without a lot to get there). I “pay myself first” into savings and retirement every paycheck.
These habits CAN be learned — and taught to yourself!

Nadler is a piece of dung that waddles.
If 'YES', "You didn't do that!" and 0bama has big plans for your money (that don't include you).
Anybody who saves any money is RACIST.
Yes, the two are highly correlated. So?
I do not see anything in the article to indicate that these behaviors are genetic rather than learned.
There is mention of 10 year olds, but that hardly rules out learned behavior. I had learned the idea of compound interest by 10 years old.
It is more likely an indication that some people have the *capacity* to learn to be forward thinkers, more than other people.
So it’s kind of like being gay. If you don’t have the straight gene there’s nothing you can do about it.
