Politico ^ | April 7, 2013 | Jennifer Epstein

Sen. John McCain says he doesn't understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns.

"I don't understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

"What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?" McCain said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

When has McCain ever taken the Dems to task for refusing to “debate” a BUDGET for nearly 5 years?

"The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

Oh really? Isn't it suppose to be about the 2nd Amendment, and representing where We the People Stand?
This is not suppose to be a debate about who gets more in campaign contributions or more power over the people. It's about liberty. Big difference, McShame.

Gun control has nothing to do with gun control, or their debate would be all about criminals with guns. This debate is about law abiding people control. The 2nd Amendment was designed to protect us from power grabs such as this.

I’ve hated McInsane since he ran anti-gun commercials in Oregon in the late 90’s. I wish I knew how to dig them up.

"What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?" McCain said

Well see, Senator, once you "take it up and debate", it only takes a simple majority to pass the bill. And it WOULD pass because the Chicago mob would issue threatening "or elses" to wavering scumbag Democrats and force it to passage the way they did Ubama's "Mengelecare" a few years ago.

McCain doesn't understand this? He should brush up on the senate rules.

“The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

This is classic McCain. All the vitriol for his fellow party colleagues if they choose to stand with the Constitution but nothing for the obstructionist bastard known as Harry Reid.

You don’t understand, John, because you are not a conservative in any meaning of the word. It’s a “conservative thing” to value the Constitution.

McCain: "I don't understand it! The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand. Take comprehensive immigration reform, for example. We need to deal with this invasion in our country! We must make sure these jobs go to hard working Americans, and..."

"Excuse me, Señor McCain? I done mowing your lawn and trimming your trees."

"Oh, heh heh! Thank you, Fernando! Here's five bucks."

"Gracias, Señor McCain!"

McLame does not know the purpose of the Senate. His statement shows it. You can hardly imagine what the hard left thinks the Senate should be.
