G.O.P. Senators Signal Possible Breakthrough in Gun Debate

WASHINGTON — Several Senate Republicans on Tuesday came out publicly against filibustering the first major gun control legislation since 1993 before it is even brought up for debate on the Senate floor, as advocates inched toward breaking a conservative blockade of the measure.

((snip))

“We’re moving forward on this bill,” said Mr. Reid, who earlier Tuesday invoked his own father’s suicide by gunshot to implore consideration of the legislation, which would expand background checks for gun buyers, bolster school safety and crack down on people who purchase firearms for those who are not entitled to own them. “The American people deserve a vote on this legislation.”

Barf. Breakthrough on the gun debate to means to me the Democrats caved and want to repeal all existing gun laws.

Surrender my rights, by all means gentlemen, surrender my rights. It’s not going to give you any problem, is it.

I think your note is a great template for me to send to my senator and the RNC.

I am absolutely livid that you are even considering the possibility of allowing a vote on legislation offered by monster gun-grabber Senator Harry Reid. Has the GOP learned nothing from the last election? I want to know if you plan on supporting Harry Reid over your constituents.

I want someone’s head on a plate. Will it be yours at the next election? Will you contribute to fortifying the conservative party or will you be a pretend conservative, voting with the liberals. I want to see you, in the news, in the papers, on tv and youtube, fiercely and publicly defending my constitutional rights or I want your resignation. If you don’t do either, I will work tirelessly to help unseat you at the earliest possible moment. Which is it going to be?

Sincerely,

Austin Aero

If gave birth to a son that turned out like Harry Reid, I'll kill myself as well.

“This is obviously an important issue,” Ms. Ayotte said. “We have a variety of views, and we should have an open vote.”

Keep in mind that his very same idea is why her predecesser voted ObamaCare out of committee.

Do these people ever learn a damn thing.

Actually the filibuster was watered down to numbers because nobody thought he’d actually do it.

It’s all political theater.

The House of Representatives won’t pass a gun bill.

“Under the measure, records of gun sales would be kept, but Ms. Collins said she was satisfied that those records could in no way be compiled into a national gun registry, a fear gun rights groups have been voicing.”

BS!!! Just to have records is compiling into a national gun registry. It will be computerized records and can be merged and sorted meaning they have a database.

History is replete with examples of how it works:

1. Registration

2. Confiscation

3. Extermination

They all said it was impossible to happen to them.

Crime will never go away.

As long as there are people, some will prey on the others. Or at least make life harder for everyone. And I’m afraid there will always be psychopaths ready to commit mass murder.

But I am not a psychopath, I’ve never hurt a fly, so I’m unsure how restricting my 2A right solves this problem.

It doesn’t hurt for everyone to remember this is the New York Times, and they have a vested interest in demoralizing us.

Nope. I trust that congressional districts are relatively small.

What you typed is logical and patently obvious, so that simply means this bill is defacto registration.

“We’re moving forward on this bill”

You’re moving forward on a lot more than this bill, Dildo. You’re setting the stage for tyranny.

And since HE brought it up, it’s fair game: too bad his dad slept with his mom BEFORE committing suicide.

We are about to get screwed one more time. If they the politicians[both Republican and Democrat] with redefining the Second Amendment. a/k/a “Background Checks”. We are screwed. Because I will gurantee that they will find somethimg in the “background” of everyone that is not on their approved list to disqualify them from purchasing a firearm. At its best, this is not going to end well. They are determined, come hell or high water, to do what they have in mind. Are we just as determined?

Anytime RINOs get together the result is not good for us.
