LAURELVILLE, Ohio - The Hocking County Sheriff's office is trying to get to the bottom of who is responsible for drugging Laurelville Police Chief Mike Berkemeier.
Berkemeier says the problem began Easter Sunday when he ate some cake sitting on his kitchen counter.
”I got up in the morning and ate it -- the entire thing,” he said.

This old boy should get out more. That’s just sad.

If I wake up, and there is a cake on the counter; and I didn’t put it there - I’ve been married long enough to know that I had better ask some questions before I touch it.
If I’m single and wake up and find a strange cake sitting in my kitchen, and have no idea who put it there - I’m just naturally cautious enough to know better than to dig in and eat it. And I’m just a stupid engineer! I’m not a cop, I’m not a judge, I’m not a prosecuting ...
What kind of idiot is this?!! Stuff like this always happens to STUPID people, and they can’t seem to figure out why.

I grew up on a farm. We poisoned gophers by leaving poisoned corn, oats and wheat in their holes. Like the Grain Fairy magically appeared and dropped off a load of food.
This cop is as stupid as your average gopher.
This story has about as much credibility as Hussein being legal.
The Chief instructed his deputies to “look far out for usual suspects, man!”
It's pretty obvious he's never run across my second ex-wife.
