Just received the call. He will announce his candidacy Wednesday in Prescott at 7:45 a.m.
An uphill climb for any Democrat now in Arkansas (and leftist ex-Lt Gov. Bill Halter is running, too, and he’s more appealing to the activist moonbat wing than the more moderate Ross). Even the lackluster Asa Hutchinson, who lost to Beebe in 2006, would have the upper hand here.
The worst thing that we (the right leaning) could do is run Asa as our candidate. My heavens, he will get annihilated. If we end up with Asa on the ticket, we had better count our lucky stars that McDaniel was taken out by his indiscretions - maybe it will be a beatdown of under 30 points. I’m in the Curtis Coleman corner on this one. Asa has had his chance - and failed miserably at every turn.
Yeah, I’m not thrilled at the prospect of Asa running (mind you, I do believe he’d probably win the general, if only because the Dem brand is so toxic now). Asa wouldn’t likely have run at all in ‘06 had Win Paul Rockefeller not died. Still, we need some new blood running.
Oh yeh, Mike supported Obama care. He doesn’t have a chance in AR.
