Barney Frank on the Boston bombing: Let this serve as a reminder to you, smaller government
Michelle Malkin ^ | 4/16/13 | Doug Powers

Posted on 04/16/2013 5:08:17 PM PDT by Nachum

The wisdom Frank tried to impart on CNN this morning is that the best way to fight against terrorism is by making government a lot bigger.

Video via The Weekly Standard:

“In this terrible situation, let’s be very grateful that we had a well-funded, functioning government. It is very fashionable in America, and has been for some time to criticize government, belittle public employees, talk about their pensions, talk about what people think … of [their] health care. Here we saw government in two ways perform very well. … I never was as a member of Congress one of the cheerleaders for less government, lower taxes. No tax cut would have helped us deal with this or will help us recover. This is very expensive.”

Did somebody actually up and shrink the government while I was looking the other way or something? Massachusetts is no example of governmental frugality. If size of government had anything to do with this attack it would be a failure of large bureacracy, since that’s all that was in any way associated with that event.

Big government is far more terrorizing than terrorists. How big and intrusive would a government have to be to stop someone intent on committing violence?

Darned good rejoinder, but Barney would simply call you a ‘wascist’—
and then you know you’ve won.
Katrina, Cynthia and now Bawney. Must be ‘Ladies’ Night’ at Starbucks.

What an absolute buffoon! Big government didn’t go to help all those people yesterday; individual citizens did.

Franks always sounds like he has a couple of hot dogs in his mouth.

He practiced his diction with marbles or something stuffed in his cheeks.
