Great! That'll teach me for listening to my granddaughter! :)
I think the other thing that helped my kids was having access to their grandparents.
My MIL has always lived with us and we are fortunate that she had an active social life—with tons of older folks visiting all of the time. Those older friends provided my kids with a perspective on recent US history that their peers never got.
They heard endless stories about the Wars, Depression, Civil Rights, and a whole host of other issues that they lived through.
Something as simple as hearing first hand that, “JFK visited our plant, and boy was he handsome” is a context that you just don’t get. (Of course, those comments always devolved into my “FDR was a communist” debates...but those were always fun.)
Kids...
This Sunday’s ep with feral Peter was one of the funniest I’ve ever seen.
[Peter wins by running over participants in his car.]
I hope the FBI is looking into this.
Are you being serious?
I saw that episode and it was very critical of terorists.
Tinfoil alert: I have to wonder if the bombing was done to destroy the episode in a roundabout way....
Maybe they as in the mo people, realized that if they bitched about the episode like they normally do, as the south park mo episode they would see nothing done about it.
Tinfoil alert off...
So, this is that “youtube” video that the administration was looking for, that triggered the bombings in Boston. Now, all they need to do is link it to Wayne LaPierre...
That’s the mode of attack that I see anyway. Anything to discredit those that don’t parrot the communist/democRAT party line.
That was not in the episode. Some a-hole combined multiple episodes and edited them.
[That was not in the episode.]
Uh, yeah I know. I guess I should use more of these /s
Okay, you got me.
There are enough people on here spouting ridiculous conspiracy theories, it would surprise me if it wasn’t /s.
You’re right, I forgot about NCIS - I watch it all the time - Great show! As I age I forget things.
Yet if men are the head of the household, why do the wives become the managers in regards to controling the checkbook.
Well, being under the weather today, I needed to have a sense of humor. Thanks for your understanding.
Allow me to ruin that for you. NCIS is the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, on which they investigate crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel.
Every week the liberal producers depict our military as heinous criminals of various descriptions. I have never watched the show but reading the episode guide reveals a list of the worst vile and defamatory story lines.
One that jumps out at me from season one.
When a marine recruiter is killed, the NCIS team quickly discover that a highly intelligent and skilled sniper was behind the attack. Initially, the team believes the sniper had a grudge against the recruiter, but when a second attack occurs the investigation takes on a wider scope and as a result, the FBI are called in, bringing Gibbs into direct conflict with the FBI's team leader. When Gibbs notices that the sniper left a "calling card" in the form of a white feather at each scene, he realizes that the sniper was probably meeting the recruiters before the shooting took place. Hoping to lure out the killer, Gibbs dons his old Marine uniform and takes over the recruitment office with Kate, his new "commanding officer", co-ordinating with DiNozzo and assisted by an FBI team. This is a direct defamation of the late Carlos Hathcock, the honored Marine sniper with a service record of 93 confirmed kills. The Viet Cong called Carlos Hathcock "White Feather", because of the white feather he kept in a band on his bush hat.
The sorry list goes on-and-on with Marines and Sailors committing horrendous acts with the obvious goal of undermining another of our once proud institutions. A pox on them and I urge you to spread the word to anyone who will listen.
End of discussion!
That episode allowed the NCIS team to capture the perp, a civilian! So, as to my last post of "end of discussion"? This is the end of the discussion!
If you need a US history text, you need A Patriot’s History of the United States. The author is FReeper LS. Check out his books and FR profile page.
