Rand Paul Defends Immigration Reform: 'I've Got A News Flash' For Coulter And Limbaugh
YouTube ^ | Mar 21, 2013 | Rand Paul

Confronted with critical quotes from Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh on Fox News Thursday morning, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) stood firm on his immigration reform stance and fired back at anyone who would try to question his resolve.

After Paul explained his stance on border security, the conversation shifted to undocumented immigrants who are already in the country. Fox host Bill Hemmer said, "you know you're a ripe target for the word amnesty," and then played clips of what media figures like Coulter and Limbaugh have been saying about the senator since he indicated his openness to a "pathway to citizenship."

"People like Coulter and Limbaugh say people like you are being suckered into an agreement here," Hemmer added. "What they argue is that conservative principles should not be sacrificed here, it's that the Republican message has been lost in the process. What would you say to that?"

Paul was eager to jump in and defend himself, saying "I've got a news flash for those who want to call people names on amnesty. What we have now is de facto amnesty." He explained, "We have 11 million people here that have been here, some of them for a decade or more. No one is telling them to go home. No one is sending them home."

He's correct only because the only people with the power to stop it, are sitting in DC and refuse to do the first job that they are charged with!

Is there a reason to keep ICE?

Yes. So there can be selective enforcement of laws against hiring illegal immigrants by Conservatives/Political Opponents of the Regime.

TWO QUESTIONS ON AMNESTY

(1) When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?

This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? This has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T

(2) What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ? While we encourage wholesale abortion as the Godless Demo-Coms socialists encourage population control and abortion Then complain the US is not reproducing enough to replace its aging supply of workers to keep their welfare ponzie schemes supplied with tax money to keep the system working.

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

These people make me laugh. Each one of them thinks HE has the MAGIC formula to give the invaders amnesty and STILL remain conservatives. It's like the guys who spent their lives trying to make gold out of horse shiite or turnips - it didn't happen then and it won't happen now. Bye, Paul we THOUGHT you might have been the one but you just showed us you're nowhere near being the guy.

Rand Paul is right about what we have now. We have de facto amnesty. We also have open borders and American citizen funding of foreign illegals.

However, this plan does NOT first control the border. It says something about spending 4 billion or so on border control over a 10 year period. That’s contempt for those who want controlled access to this country.

Therefore, what does the “new” law do? Essentially, it maintains the status quo with the border, but now there’s a path to a green card for those who violate the borders.

It’s hard to imagine anything being worse than what we have now, but this is worse than the status quo. It takes serious work to come up with something worse than the status quo, but they’ve achieved it.

This “uncontrolled border green card” plan must be rejected.

I trust Rand. He’s trying to make a bad bill better. He’ll probably fail and vote against it.

The bill is terrible and Rand is trying to make it better at least as far as border security is concerned before handing out any visas’.

He wants congress to vote on it. That means if they dont enforce existing laws then we can stop it through the congress.

The trade off is that we give illegals a visa to stay and work legally.

I dont even like the idea of fining them. Secure the border then have your visa and get on with it. If they want citizenship make them learn about the constitution.

I’m not afraid that we can’t win their vote when they’re citizens.
