IF RUBIO'S AMNESTY IS SO GREAT, WHY IS HE LYING? ... Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 17 April 2013 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 04/18/2013 12:15:14 AM PDT by Rummyfan

When Republicans start lying like Democrats, you can guess they are pushing an idea that's bad for America. During his William Ginsburg-like tour of the Sunday talk shows last weekend, Sen. Marco Rubio was the Mount Vesuvius of lies about his immigration bill.

Here is how Rubio explained the powerful border-enforcing mechanism in his bill on "Fox News Sunday," which he denied was merely a meaningless goal:

"Basically, Homeland Security will have five years to meet that goal. If after five years, Homeland Security has not met that number, it will trigger the Border Commission, who will then take over this issue for them."

So the water torture awaiting the Department of Homeland Security if it fails to secure the border is ... ANOTHER GOVERNMENT COMMISSION WILL BE CREATED! Take that, Homeland Security! Ha -- we have you now!

The only thing more frightening than "another government commission" is a "strongly worded letter."

Rubio said his comprehensive immigration plan isn't amnesty because "amnesty is anything that says 'do it illegally, it will be cheaper and easier.'" But, he assures us, it's "cheaper, faster and easier for people to go back home and wait 10 years" -- as the law currently requires -- "than it will be to go through this process that I've outlined."

Then why is he doing it? If it's "cheaper, faster and easier" for illegals to apply for citizenship under current law, what exactly does Rubio's plan accomplish?

Politicians lie. It’s the nature of the “profession”.

Good question, but I must say that many of us asked the same question about Ann's beloved Mitt Romney candidacy.

I was never a Rubio fan, because his whole argument for his political future was his biography (and not policy). Rubio was all "up from immigrant" success story. In the year after he was elected, Rubio was invisible. Rand Paul was making a name for himself with policies and action. Rubio was nowhere to be seen.

This year, Rubio steps forward to take his place on the national stage. His forum? The Gang of Eight. Rubio came out and told us that not seccuring the border first was a "deal breaker", when questioned about his association with Schumer, McCain and Grahamnesty.

Now, the deal is out, Rubio is on board with instant amnesty and no border security.

Rubio has destroyed himself politically. He's destroyed his credibility. He's lieing, lieing, lieing.

My parents always told me “you’re known by the company you keep”. Well, Rubio is clearly showing that he is nowhere close to being in Ted Cruz’ league.

Exactly right. If Rubio becomes the presidential nominee in 2016, the majority of “conservatives” (including many I know personally) will cave and vote for him because, well.....he has an “R” after his name.

Is it going to be easier or harder for Republicans to deny welfare to 20 million newly legalized illegal aliens than it is for them to simply say that people who have broken our laws should not be on a fast-track to citizenship?

Its obvious Rubio is engaging in double talk hoping to speak so fast no one can quite understand what he's saying.

I do not give him the benefit of a doubt - he is knowingly flim flamming conservatives and should be held to account at his next election.

I don’t believe he will have an R after his name by the time 2016 rolls around.

I've spoken with Rubio's office three times (and several other Senate offices, too) regarding the much talked about back ground checks they will perform on applicants for citizenship.

My question to them is whether cross checking voter registration roles will be a part of this process. It is a question they won't answer, so obviously it will not.

Therefore, in their eyes it is not only OK to cross our border illegally it is also OK to illegally vote in our elections which in turn denies honest American citizens their lawful vote.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step. This is a good step, but you still have about a thousand miles to go before I ever trust you again, Ann.

CASE IN POINT---THE CORRUPT DOMINICAN REPUBLIC HAS AN IRON GRIP ON AMERICA'S POLITICAL/ELECTORAL SYSTEM-- its greedy tentacles surface in every facet of US power centers.

The cunning Dominican govt survives on billions of our tax dollars which illegal residents located here send back home---all of them riding the US gravy train.

Neutral Dominican Republic travel brochures belittle the do-nothing Caribbean Third World satrap teemimg with poverty. The do-nothing Dominican govt provides no social safety nets for needy citizenry.

DOMINICAN GOVT MEDDLING IN MENENDEZ IMBROGLIO IS AN OUTRAGE It is an unconscionable travesty against representative democracy-- that the corrupt Dominican Republic meddling in US affairs---cooking the books to help US Sen Menendez (D-NJ) stay in power.

Menendez hired an illegal latino sex offender as a volunteer on Capitol Hill. Menendez is accused of patronizing Dominican underage prostitutes. Menendez has been airlifted to Dominican Republic for sex and years later paid for the airlifts as required by law. Menendez used his office to advance a billion dollar Dominican port deal for a Fla resident.

HOW DO YOU SAY QUID PRO QUO IN SPANISH? Clearly, a deal was made. IF (BIG IF) the Dominican Republic saves Menendez's degenerate a** (and prevents the dreaded Christie appointment), Obama will write the foreign aid check w/ plenty of zeros. Memendez has TWO governments protecting his a**.
